going to go with a AP2 gap wedge this year @ 50 for full shots..

I want to master one wedge this year and purchase a 60K for the sand only

Would you guys go 54M or 54F or 54S for pretty much every shot inside 120 ish including chips, pitches and full shots..... Play is usually normal to soft conditions and like to keep the wedge face relatively square on those shots

Im going 50 F-use on full shots and bump and runs, 54 S-use on mostly everything 115 and in, 60 M-bunkers and flops. Shots I need to open face on and stop on a dime

yep im going to use my 50 deg set gap wedges for full and the 54 like u said on everything else - tired of messing up with the 58 or 60 time and time again. 54 K M S or F ?????

Full and those 5-60 deg shots I don't think it matters too much. I hate the M Grind. F grind might have too much bounce? That leaves K or S - K out of the bunkers is supposed to be money so Ill be going 58 or 60K for sure for sand shots only.

List price of $169 seems a little high, don't you think? Glad I picked up an M grind 56-10 at the end of the season when my club's pro shop was unloading stuff!

That's the MSRP, i saw some where that the MAP is 149.00, so i think we'll be able to pick it up for that price.

I had a 54M. Drop Kicked on me with a square face. Opening it up tho for spinners and flops it works great. Safest grind to buy is the S its solid all around. I tried the K was not a fan from the fairway. Solid from bunkers

What's the difference in F and S for a 54 wedge? I have the 60 degree K grind and love it.

Doesn't the F grind have more bounce compared to the S?

I think its pretty clear JP had a lot of influence on the SM6

Doubt it. You should check out the video on the sm6. Should tell you all you need to know.

I posted this in the demo day thread, but the SM6 shapes look very similar to the 200 series. At least in the lower lofts. I'll likely pick up a couple somewhere in the 48 to 56 deg range, but still prefer something like a V-grind in the 60.

Is it just me or is there some of the 200 series shape influence in the lower lofted SM6? Those are looking really good.

The more I gaze at these pictures the more I'm convinced.

Here's the picture above of the SM6 S-grind 54*:

And here's my 254.10, which isn't an original 200 Series, but a Wedgeworks 200 Series from a couple years ago.

Looks pretty close, and that's a good thing.

And yes, my background setting is a little different than what these guys are getting in FL right now...

That's great. I personally hope that James Patrick won't have too much influence on Vokey wedges ever, because I am not a fan of his designs.

I'm thinking 50.08F, 54.14F and 58.11K. Is that a crazy setup?

Currently playing SM5s in 50.08F, 54.10S and 58.07S - shaft = KBS Tour S

Do you want more bounce? Not crazy just pick bounce for you. Have you tried the KBS hi-rev shaft?

Have not. My reasoning is 1)keep the shafts the same as my irons 2)narrow the gaps. I found with the wedge flex shaft the distance between my 45*PW and the 50*gap was close to 20 yards.

Can anybody confirm that the leading edges of the retail SM6s are also as square as on some of the pictures of the "2015 Shriners" thread?

http://www.golfwrx.c...-2015-shriners/

I have seen the SM6 in person and the ones in the link that you posted look identical to the retail ones that I saw. This is just based off my memory but I think those are retail versions.

That's good to know, thanks for the information. I really like the changes they've made to the SM6, of course, based solely on the pictures.

I still don't understand why they don't make the 54/56 available in a K grind. If the K is a bunker grind, wouldn't you want it on your bunker club?

The 54/56K is such a valuable club (to a specific group of people), i think they want to keep it specific to TVD/wedgeworks

I would LOVE a stock 54K though

Sm5 are now reduced at my local miles of golf. I've seen the 6 in person. I'll be sticking with the 5 for this season. Just comfortable with my setup.

I still don't understand why they don't make the 54/56 available in a K grind. If the K is a bunker grind, wouldn't you want it on your bunker club?

They are expecting the vast majority of players to hit their 58-60 out of the bunker now. It doesn't make sense to offer it "to the masses" and instead just have it as a custom limited offering at a higher price point.

especially the way bunkers have become deeper and taller and my course anyways. 60 is my bunker only club

As cool as these wedges look, I still find it hard to believe that they are gonna cost $150 when they release on March 11.

200$ a hook is the first pricing i've heard in Canada! :swoon:

I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't know hardly anyone who plays bunker shots with a "sand wedge" anymore.
