It looks better than previous versions for open faced shots !

I would look at a different grind for flop shots. I would look at the M or L grind for that. The S grind is not really designed for those types of shots.

Bounce increases forgiveness a lot on flop shots and bunker shots . The more you have while still being able to open the face the easier and better the wedge will perform .

I like the way SM6 looks but the price increase is ridiculous. About 18% bump over SM5.

 

I'll stick with my SM5 which has been good to me so far.

Pretty sure it depends on the lie, conditions, and swing type? One set of variables will have less bounce improving difficulty whereas another set will favor more bounce?

There is an updated list of shafts on vokey.com. They did add the DG AMT as a stock offering. Can't recall any other new offerings other than the AMT.

Hey guys, I'm looking at the 52/12 in an F grind, would you go with the 56/12 (F) or 56/08 (M)? My lob wedge will be a 60/08 in a M grind. I tend to pick the ball, so would a higher or lower bounce be better/F versus M grind.

If your lob wedge is a 60/08 M grind, I would go with the 56/12 (F) grind.

My bad, the 56 is 14 degrees of bounce. Would you still go with the F grind given the above?

I love the new look. Much better toe and top line. But I do love my TVD's. If I switch I will be holding out for the RAW version to become available. Forgot who told me. Probably on the custom site though.

From what I've heard, there will not be a TVD release of the SM6. These new designs are suppose to encompass the TVD characteristics. I believe they are the same metal used in the TVDs as well.

I play flop shots with my SM5 60* S grind. Works fine for me. It's easier with my Hand Ground E wedge with heel relief though. I also have a 55* K grind for really soft courses or courses with lots of bunkers with soft sand. With hard sand, I just flop my 60*.

Fully agree. I think they may have priced themselves out of the market for some golfers. TM for sure did that with the EF TP wedges, they aren't selling. Period.

 

Not sure why Titleist would do this, as $129 has been the go to price point for premium wedges. No need for a $20 jump. Especially for a wedge that is not forged.

I know you say this, but with the TVD releases during the SM4-5 days, the "feel" of the TVD is much different/softer. I don't know if that is due to the finish, different metal or placebo effect......but they do feel different.

placebo, I've owned so many, can't count. The hand grounds did feel softer because the lack of heat treatment for hardness.

Steel gray is a close approximation to the former black nickel. They will not rust.

Held and hit each model the other day. They feel great and the trajectory control is great with the scalloping on the head. The steel grey looks sharp in person.

Steel looks good in person. I hit the new wedges yesterday at a demo day. Nice, but nothing over the top different than my sm5. For someone needing new wedges in 2016, these are a great option.

I saw all of them yesterday, they look great espescially the chrome finish. Gbone has a meeting planned with Mr Vokey himself, lean on him for info after he gets back from that trip.
