"Cartoon" Headcovers, Cool or lame?

Most of the guys that I play with have at least one animal headcover in their bags. It shows character in my opinion, but if you think something looks cool, then use it, doesn't really matter if someone else doesn't like it because its not in their bag.

I have a trashcan headcover for my driver. I'm either talking trash with it as I am striping it or its trash that day.

Depends on the cartoon character. Bugs Bunny, if you're good, is going to be cool. If you suck, Mr. Magoo is going to, at least, make you cool. And oh the irony when a painfully slow player sports a Speedy Gonzales headcover.

I have an Inspector Clouseau that was hoping to meet up the the Pink Panther (Paula C.) one day but sadly that never happened. He does make an appearance on the driver once in a while though.

As someone who has a driver cover that looks like a beer mug that says, "beer is good" on it. Definitely cool.

I don't use it all the time, but I have a Bill the Goat headcover that I put into play occasionally.

My buddy and I were talking about this the other day. What about an entire themed bag? Maybe get a custom putter that looks like wood, for the nimbus 2000. Use a yellow ball for the golden snitch. A Gryffindor towel. That would be pretty sweet.

I have a Ninja Turtle on my driver. I like novelty covers, but I think one per bag is enough.

 

I want a Bender from Futurama for my other bag.

If any adult male gives you crap about anything in YOUR golf bag then that person is a D-Bag whose opinion counts for nothing anyway.

 

I don't really care about what anyone has in their bag ... but I'm going to give my buddies crap about what's in theirs, no matter what.

I went for a Combo between cartoon and sports - a cartoon sports mascot. Stamford the Lion, often seen at Chelsea games, keeping the kids (and grown ups) amused.

 

 

The wife bought me it 4 years ago - it looks a tad more weathered now, but it isn;t leaving the bag until it falls apart. Goes well with the Vapor FW headcovers and my blue/yellow Sun Mountain bag too.

I own all of the above mentioned, I rotate them depending on how I am feeling, I also have the Rose and Fire multicam headcovers that I love and are normally on all the time...

Forgot to mention - my usual golf buddy is a massive Tottenham Hotspur fan, so depending on how the latest results have gone, the headcover is often joined by a towel, some tees and a logo'd ball. Just to wind him up :)

Here is my take, anything that can make someone else smile is probably a good thing. Those who have something to say would've found something else to pick at anyways. Be brave! Then adjust as needed. :p

My kids have given me a headover every year for my birthday, that headcover sits on the bag for the year. I recently picked up a Mickey Mouse headcover for my putter after playing the magnolia course at Disneyworld.

I like them. I use the John Daly on the driver once football season ends. During football season, I throw on the elephant. My nickname for my daughter is the giraffe, so my wife bought me a giraffe for the 3 wood. I played with a guy who had an entire zoo in his bag, but he was also the reigning club champion so I don't think equating novlelty covers with hacky play works!

I like the old school head covers, but to each there own. Whatever makes someone happy and if you like it who cares what anyone else thinks
