I agree. Big fan of the navy/green combo on the 116 shirt. A navy cover with green accents would look great, IMO.

Hopefully soon, since it's two weeks until the open! I would rather have a Nike one over the oakmont one I would pick up on Sunday when I go watch it.

Does anyone here game the rory 006 oven prototype (the one with the volt headcover)? I'm thinking of getting one to game and not just collect. Ebay had a few sell since 2016 for around 500$, that sound about right?

I did game until the Rory origin came out. Almost a completely different putter performance wise. Retail/LE V versions.

 

Almost identical in looks, but different in performance.

 

What is the difference you are seeing between retail and LE?

 

I meant to say the performance of the LE/retail putter is different than the 006 putter.

 

LE/Retail origin b2-01 is the same putting-wise. But if you compare to the 006, the roll is different with the face and RZN.

 

Well geez is that interesting!! I am having such a hard time pulling the trigger on getting one... What do you see? ball rolling sooner as oppose to skidding? more true roll? better control?

 

My hesitation with this putter is why the grooves need to go all the way across the face like they do. I know everyone doesnt hit the center of the face every time, but I dont think anyone is going to miss by the margin that this putter allows. Assuming the how the grooves are made is the same, or very similar, I just dont get it.

 

side note, not trying to challenge that you say its better, just honestly looking for feedback.

Thanks man. Yeah really putted well. Actually the stats may not show it but I struck the ball pretty well too. Was missing fairways by less than 5 yards constantly, so I wasn't spraying all over the map, just getting too much run or a sideways kick. Couple loose shots on the back 9 otherwise it could've been really special.

He might be referring to the fact your pic shows 12 out of 14 Fairways hit-you say missing them by 5 yards constantly-and that you hit 14 out of 18 greens with 30 putts to shoot 71. So 13 of 17 greens in regulation, not counting the last hole, were played at even par with 29 putts. You were 5 under regulation putting on those 4 holes but were just even par. Guessing you never got up and down and had a 3 putt somewhere? 18 was your only birdie? Can still be a very nice round it's just that the stats do not likely add up.

That sucks, I can relate and I'll let you know how it goes! I'm expecting the Nikes to be one club longer because of the shafts even though the lofts are the same on both sets.

Looks like the US Open collection is coming out bit by bit, hopefully we will get a cover this time around.

Does anyone have any pictures of the actual balls? I see they're up now and I was thinking about nabbing some but I'd like to know what they look like at $60/12. It's kinda funny that the description and title of the product say Platinum but the side of the box in the photograph says Black. Also "U STRAY U PAY" is pretty genius for Oakmont. How is this not on a shirt yet? Dropping the ball.

Yeah, there HAS to be more on the way. Just what's out now would be a letdown. I'm on the fence about the balls, I don't think I would even play them. The RM5s never even left the box they shipped in and probably never will.

I think you're right. Don't know why Nike doesn't put it on play store, but many people have complained about it.

 

Took them like two or three years to put it on Android, then it was on the Play store for like, 3 months, at which point they discontinued support for it, and took it off the Play store.
