I imagine teenagers wearing flat brim hats are trying to look anything but cute. They're probably going for the 'cool','edgy' look instead. I wouldn't know though as I'm in my 30's and thus massively out of touch.

The announcers on Golf Channel just confirmed Jimmy wore a flat bill yesterday, possibly to mess with Rickie. Now Rickie is in all black today, to emulate Jimmy. Maybe just a bit of playfulness on the course.

Definately a West Coast thing. I would see it in the mid 90's when I was out in San Diego for drill. Growing up on the East Coast we always bent the brim, also did it that way in Corps. I have teenage sons, so between the flat bill hats and jacked up socks...just makes me chuckle, because we wore those things in the 80's and 90's. Seems all fashion statements come back around. Next stop stone washed jeans.

I wear the flat bill, crew socks, and have 2 little kids. I don't care what you all think.

It's definitely a west coast thing as I'm not seeing it much in the midwest but visiting Cali it's more common than not.

Caps are ridiculous full stop....why do they wear the stupid things even when the suns not out.....oh yeah??...MONEY.....to me Fowler looks stupid...Elmer Fudd!!!...be like Faldo in the open....don't wear one!!...or Donald in the Ryder cup...very very rarely does anyone on my course wear one, and on most of the courses i go and play...is it an American thing????

Thank you. This whole idea that the flat bill is new and/or "is trying to hard" or whatever else people say is nonsense. If you're not a flat bill guy that's fine. Some guys are, some aren't. Just please post some pics of your typical outfit so we can all see how it should be done.
