The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result...M1 falls right in line with what I expected to see. Another white SLDR style head (BUT THERES CARBON FIBERRRR!!)

What has nike done that is innovative or lacks the same definition of insanity?

I'm sure I'm missing a few, but you get the point. Nike doesn't release clubs every 6 months. The "insanity" is TM thinking they can release yet another white driver with a slider with another new name.
So, 3 years with only half a club. haha
Although I agree with some of what you are saying, you can't put aeroburner, jetspeed,... in with the sldr line. TM has much larger market share, they have two lines of drivers. Performance line and a Player improvement line. If you make the list into two for the TM line as it should be, your argument doesn't hold water.
The fact that no one has tried to copy the Nike design for last three years, should tell you something
Nobody copied Nikes compression channel? I beg to differ...

Bet it has a "T" rail for left to right and front to back weight adjustment. I called this for the R15, but was too far ahead of my time. I think I'm correct this time!!!

I, for one, love that look. It looks like the driver a stormtrooper would have in his bag. Too bad stormtroopers a can't anything they aim at.

Holy crap, get Disney on board for the marketing. Show a foursome of stormtroopers bombing drives down the fairway. Tag line to the effect of "if only they were this good with a blaster"

It'd be better than the speed police anyway.

Im sure your Nike staff deal plays no part in this at all...please continue to Bash as you see fit. But nike could only dream of being able to be in the position TM is in.

Taylormade has been the number 1 driver in golf since 2000 and has released a new driver every year since. Its nothing new. The new driver is by no means what we saw when we saw R9 to R9 460 and is just getting bigger and a new name. Its a complete change regardless of what you think. Adding composite to a driver is no easy task. Ask callaway how many FT clubs came back because the weld would litteraly explode on the club and you would be left with a hockey stick. Or how the weight savings in composite FT heads weighed more than the titanium heads we have now.

Sldr was grey.
TM was the first driver to go low and forward CG. Nike and the industry quickly followed.
TM pioneered the movable weight and adjustable loft driver. Nike and the industry quickly followed.
TM was one of the first to launch colored drivers. Nike and the industry quickly followed.

See a pattern developing here? Regardless of your opinion of "insanity" the golf industry uses TM as the market guinea pig and quickly follows what they launch from a technology stand point.

Sldr was grey.
R15 was the first driver that was white with a sliding weight.
M1/R16 is multi colored and has not shown us the full scale of the technology change.
You have the SLDR line on there 3 times.
Burner 2.0 was 2011.

Did I mention SLDR was grey.

Tell me the last time that nike was a profitable golf hard goods company (without Corporate nike paying all their staff players) or had a market share in the double digits. If they didn't have parent Nike they would not exist. If TM didn't have Adidas they would still be around.

I am a Taylormade fan yes, but I am not oblivious to what has happened in the market since 2000 and can see which companies are successful and which have not been.

I'm sorry but your statement about SLDR being the first low and forward design is wrong, wrong, wrong. It is so wrong it comes across as intentional.

Google Wishon 545 LS.

Familiar with it. Are you really comparing a 270cc driver to SLDR? Two totally different clubs. A lot of differences here...not sure where to start.

Darrel survey. Total worldwide wins. You know the things every company is trying to lead in because tour usage directly relates to sales.

Same thing that Titleist says with #1 ball in golf.

The two tone head looks like it might help with alignment. I have always been a big fan of Callaway and Cobra composite drivers. I'll definitely give this one a try, and carbon fiber looks cool on just about anything.

I have always wondered why Taylormade Trolls even care about release cycles and trade in values. I am not interested in Titleist, Mizuno, Ping, or Cleveland products. I don't care what their release cycles are. I don't care about their commercials. I don't care about their trade-in values. And I do not go into threads about those products and make comments. If you don't like a companies products, move on, and let people that do like the products, comment on them.
I have met a bunch of guys on the course that have gone away from taylormade. Though you can take it with a grain of salt. But, the #1 reason is there release cycle. They hate the feeling that. If their is so much technology and innovation going into each new taylormade products. It made them feel there new taylormade product is now obsolete. Taylormade makes some outrageous claims. Even there new video is outrageous. And they didn't have to say a damn word. That video pretty much sums it all up. This unexpected driver is this much further then the competition.

If the "bunch of guys" you know are aware of TM's release cycle and have problems with it, why in the world did they buy TM equipment as soon as it came out instead of waiting? And if you KNOW TM's claims are outrageous, then you shouldn't buy into their marketing hype in the first place.

In answer to TaylorMadeLuv About total worldwide wins, and number one driver in golf......Seems to not mean much when you consider the fact that at least 90% of TM tour pros play a driver that cannot be bought at retail.

As is the case for almost every driver in a players bag. We all know this. But manufactures still do it too to bottom.

And what they see and hear is there release cycle.

Incidentally, I have no problem buying the current model year Porsche or Ferrari, even though I am well aware that they will be releasing new, revised models next year. Or an Apple Macbook Pro. If anyone would like to come over and give the new M1 a shot I've got one ready. Shafted it up with a brand new Aldila Prototype they are calling the "Envy"...or maybe it's "EnVee". Not sure. Anyways here's a pic I snapped this morning.

I'm personally not crazy about the look but I'm curious to see what their "claim to fame" is going to be with this one over the R15. Looks to have the same weight system. Is the black material on the top somehow going to make the ball come off hotter? I know you could ask this same question about every manufacturer when they come out with something new, though.

I don't personally know them on a regular basis.

And that's all we need to know about this anecdote.

Incidentally, I have no problem buying the current model year Porsche or Ferrari, even though I am well aware that they will be releasing new, revised models next year. Or an Apple Macbook Pro. Or a whole bunch of other products. None of these things suddenly stop working just because a new model comes out.
Good for you. But, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say their drivers stopped working due to a new release.

My iPhone 6 is going to stop working in a month.
Its obvious why it's gonna stop working. And it's not because of a new release.

Neither am I. I am saying that people are justifying their condemnation of TM's release cycle based on that assumption, which is stupid.
