Just an FYI, there ARE 2 tracks in the M1.

There is a Heel to Toe and Front to Back.

That is why we didn't see a picture of the sole of the club.
So it's safe to say this driver is Trackier.

Totally bad form on golfwrx for stealing the pics and acting like they're the ones that found them!

On another note, I just saw a Taylormade commercial that something big is happening on 10-8-2015.

Again, for shame golfwrx on the pic incident.

Nothing truly gets out, unless the Company wants it out. Oops somebody accidently leaked some pics before the official release, sure. This pattern happens all the time in the golf industry. It's just a cheap form of advertising to generate some buzz. All the different websites talking about this possible driver days ago wasn't a mistake, and neither was the pulling of pics to only put them up again. Well Played TM, and all the golf sites that helped them out with it.

Has anyone else read that this club might have a chip in it that can capture your swing stats? Probably just a crazy rumor.
The chip in the head is probably not far away. I know that Nike applied for a patent about 2 years ago for that exact thing. We'll see who's first to bring it to market!

For a practice/training club, maybe. For a production driver meant to be used in tournament play, no way.

The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result...M1 falls right in line with what I expected to see. Another white SLDR style head (BUT THERES CARBON FIBERRRR!!)
What has nike done that is innovative or lacks the same definition of insanity?
Nike

2014: Nike VR_S Covert 2.0
2013: Nike VR_S Covert

2015: Aeroburner
2014: SLDR
2014: Jetspeed
2014: SLDR S

2013: SLDR
2013: RBZ Stage 2
2012: Rocketballz
2012: Burner SF 2.0
2012: R11S

I'm sure I'm missing a few, but you get the point. Nike doesn't release clubs every 6 months. The "insanity" is TM thinking they can release yet another white driver with a slider with another new name.
Im sure your Nike staff deal plays no part in this at all...please continue to Bash as you see fit. But nike could only dream of being able to be in the position TM is in.

Taylormade has been the number 1 driver in golf since 2000 and has released a new driver every year since. Its nothing new. The new driver is by no means what we saw when we saw R9 to R9 460 and is just getting bigger and a new name. Its a complete change regardless of what you think. Adding composite to a driver is no easy task. Ask callaway how many FT clubs came back because the weld would litteraly explode on the club and you would be left with a hockey stick. Or how the weight savings in composite FT heads weighed more than the titanium heads we have now.

Sldr was grey.
TM was the first driver to go low and forward CG. Nike and the industry quickly followed.
TM pioneered the movable weight and adjustable loft driver. Nike and the industry quickly followed.
TM was one of the first to launch colored drivers. Nike and the industry quickly followed.

See a pattern developing here? Regardless of your opinion of "insanity" the golf industry uses TM as the market guinea pig and quickly follows what they launch from a technology stand point.

Sldr was grey.
R15 was the first driver that was white with a sliding weight.
M1/R16 is multi colored and has not shown us the full scale of the technology change.
You have the SLDR line on there 3 times.
Burner 2.0 was 2011.

Did I mention SLDR was grey.

Tell me the last time that nike was a profitable golf hard goods company (without Corporate nike paying all their staff players) or had a market share in the double digits. If they didn't have parent Nike they would not exist. If TM didn't have Adidas they would still be around.

I am a Taylormade fan yes, but I am not oblivious to what has happened in the market since 2000 and can see which companies are successful and which have not been.

And yet Adidas is trying to dump Taylormade? Nike needs to buy Taylormade and put big Volt swooshes on all their driver heads.

I think I watched the commercial too many times because a fan theory just popped in my head. So what if we are looking at this the wrong way. What if instead of a new driver on 10.8.15 we are getting... a new ball?
If you look at the commercial it shows the guy walking to the divot closer to the green, but also closer to the two ridiculous trees placed in front of the green. Pin tucked up front, branches hanging so you can't bring in low and hot. Going to require a J-Day like lob wedge over the trees to get it close.

Or you could hit the "UNexpected" shot and hit a punch with enough spin to hit and check up, or back...
I mean obviously this commercial is really for a driver but You never know

I don't know how anyone can get excited by this, or Callaway's new driver. These two companies churn them out so quickly I don't see how any new driver can be that much different than what they came out with a few months ago.
Simple answer - because regardless of how well it outperforms the older model, consumers in general get excited by new and shiny products.

Now if this thing has 2 tracks and R15 style 2 weights in the forward one here's what I start to question:
~Weights wide and back makes sense. High MOI all around.
~Weights centered and forward. How unforgiving that would be. Long but unforgiving.
~Weights centered and back. High spinning unforgiving.
~Weights to one side and back. Would move the sweet spot to the side of the double weights.

So what's the real advantage of a forward back and side to side sliding weights?

^^^^ Interesting speculation.

10/8 is either going to be really impressive or a really big letdown.
And depending on who you ask, it will likely be both. Personally, I think the multimaterial approach and "reported" dual tracks is really, really interesting

Maybe its not three weights...maybe its still 2? would solve a couple of those areas...
