IN HAND: TaylorMade M1 Driver 460cc and 430cc

Seems like really odd timing to release a new club. Pro's generally aren't wanting to change clubs this late in the year, and unless you live in a 365 day/year golf climate, the majority of amateurs also have their bags set for the year. Seems like they could have waited till January/February to release.

The face shape and crown buldge seem weird to my eye, Also while I like Carbon Fiber it looks ALOT better Black on Fiber. There is a lot going on there IMO, I'll pass until I can get a Tour Issued one on the cheap next summer.

I can afford to spend $500 per year (hell, i wish that was all i spent) on a new driver.

I'm really loving everything about it at this point. TM marketing aside, I think the look of it is awesome and like someone said earlier, I'm a sucker for carbon fiber. I'm imagining they will release a black on black version which will look crazy good. On looks alone, I'm all in.

To bad it's not all black, not a fan of the white/black look. It will be interesting to see if it's more forgiving than the R15/SLDR.

For the first time in a long time I think the 460 looks better than the 430 at least in the pics. And I'm a huge fan of the KK tini. An M1 460 10.5 KK tini is now at the very top of my must try list. Thanks TM my wallet is shaking!!

There are only two events left in the season, both of which are limited field events (70 next week, then 30 at the Tour Championship). The 2015-2016 season will be starting in the near future, so this is basically the off-season for the next few weeks. Late summer club launches were what many of us predicted when the PGA Tour went to wraparound seasons. It's perfect timing.

For the consumer in a place with a 6 month golf season, I've always advocated going to get fit for a new equipment near the end of the season instead of early in the year because you've had all year to play and have your swing in good shape. It's not the right strategy for everyone, but I think it makes more sense than doing an early spring fitting when you've only played a handful of rounds or just hit balls during the winter.

Based on what I see, looks like the trusty R11S survives one more round of new drivers from TMAG

Lets see in 6 months what is next, my bet is two movable weights in the front slot with the one weight in the front to back slot and a black option or all carbon option...M1 S

Im all for advancing technology, but this is getting out-of-hand silly. The looks are going to turn a lot of people off this club, I reckon.

Surprised it took them this long to do a T slider. Someone mentioned that when the first SLDR came out. Personally don't care for the two tone look. Maybe a total carbon top as white is getting tiresome. Sounds like Jason Day is going to pull a Speith and put one in his bag for the next tournament.. Getting 3 mph more...pull the other leg.

I owned and have played plenty of TM clubs. I think its hybrids and the aero burner fw are great, and with that caveat in mind, this is club is ugly. I would never be able to focus on the ball all I look at is the line between black and white. I'm good with either by itself but this is awful. I can't believe they'd come out with something so fast, I know what was I thinking, especially when the aero burner was so well received. Not to mention the price keeps going up, hybrids seemed to have cost $210, 3-5 years ago, now it's $249?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a huge bust. No wonder Adidas is selling, the TM business model is insane. I hope they tighten up and figure it out

Funny to see all the different tastes in looks on here. Some people say its ugly as sin and want to puke. I personally think its beautful and love the white vs black carbon as an even easier way to line it up straight. Me wants one.
