You are aware that "Spoon" was the name for a club before clubs had numbers.
Bro you're like really old. A spoon is an earring utensil, or a fishing lure to most.
Just watch Bagger Vance or Greatest Game Ever Played or the like. I'm not sure what exactly is an earring utensil.

I've always love this name. Plus, John Daly was playing that club. You can't beat that :D

The Diablo.

Reminds me of Smokey and The Bandit.

"I'll have a Diablo sammich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it quick cause I'm in a hurry." (Jackie Gleason)

The meaningless numbers are also kind of stupid in my measure.
R-580, R-1, i25, G30

I know there must be some unknown meaning to those numbers but.....

I just realized that golf clubs are actually sort of like cars. Some catchy names - and some that simply don't flow.

Taylormade, Titleist and probably others have used and continue to use the letters TS on their 3+ woods(<15*). TS stands for tour spoon

"Big Bertha" is far and away the most stupid name for a golf club ever. Nothing else is even close. Some marketing guy got incredibly lucky with that one.
Agree.

It is like calling a driver "Large Marge" or "Fat Nessie"...quite funny that it is now mentioned without anyone batting an eyelid.
There actually was a "Large Marge" driver...a Big Bertha clone from the 90's. I had one that I assembled on a Dynamic Gold steel X100 shaft. Was my driver for many years...

I'd so call my driver the HeckYa, and the tour model would be the HellYa.
Two questions

1: Does it help if you yell "HECK YEA" at impact?

2: Will the follow up be FreakYa?

The FreakYa will be released three months later and add 17 freakin yards*.

(yards based on calculation where JimBob uses meters)

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Rocketballz Stage 2, wtf?! Exit stage right.
I hope I don't Gorge my wedge shot.
Guys over 50 saying "Mack Daddy".
The Rapture and Diablo had the God Squad a bit concerned about their club choice.
The SUMO should have come with a diaper styled head cover.
Big Bertha Alpha 816 Double Black Diamond. We've got a WWI Howitzer reference, a call sign code for the letter "A", a model number depicting the year of introduction and a skiing reference. Anything else we could add?
SRIXON, that's not a word or a name. It's an amalgamation of letters formed together making us think it should be pronounced as a word or name. In Scrabble, I would challenge it!

Yes yes.
Before [s]I got sponsored[/s] became sponsor of Titleist, Callaway, Tailormade and Scratch I got myself some BANG Woods.
The Bang-o-Matic driver.
And BANG FW Woods.

Have to admit though that the FW Woods were really good.

I also got a driver called So-Loooong.

BANG has many wondefull names. Take your pick:

yep. I think it was $25 for the head, $9 for the shaft and $2 for the grip -- very serviceable "Big Bertha" for less than $40!
