Please explain how you would approach testing the TaylorMade PSi Irons Do some range testing to get a feel for them side by side with my current irons. See how the flight and feel compares at the range. Take them to the course and play 2 shots on iron shots to see how they compare alternating hitting order of brands to compare actual on course play.(Only on slow course play day) Play a full round with them only and see how average scoring compares.
I would combine range and on-course testing. My plan would be to test the clubs on the driving range during the first two to three days. I would then feel comfortable transitioning to on-course testing. Distances, trajectory and forgiveness would be the focus of my testing. I would compare them to my current set as I have requested that the lofts be weakened to be the same as the 712's I currently use. Thanks for your time in advance!

I would first post hd unboxing pictures, then take them to the range (depending on the time that they arrived) and progress through the whole set. I would then write a review on them from the range session. The next day, I would take them to my golf club and play a round with them moving again through the entire bag. I would then try to hit specific shots with the clubs on certain holes (150 yards out, 100, ect.) then write that review. I would do this through continued use.

Currently gaming:

R15
SLDR TP 15* and 19* woods
Speedblade 3i, RSi2 4 - AW
ATV 56
Odyssey White Hot Pro # 7

My current handicap is 11.5
Located in Grand Rapids, MI

Currently gaming Speedblade 3i with KBS Tour Stiff and RSi2 4 - AW with KBS Tour 105 Stiff and stock grips

I have never been fit for irons, per se. I've self fit by hitting at Demos and LMs, etc

And yes, I would participate in a review thread, and provide necessary pics, impressions, on course notes, etc

My approach to testing the irons would include range sessions to get acquainted with them (I have a portable LM to compare ball speeds, etc). Then I'd take the 9i and 7i and mix them in with my set for a round or two, to compare to my 9 and 7. Then I'd take the whole set for a few rounds at my home course and do the pertinent comparisons (I'd be a lot more detailed and thorough than I can get into detail here)

Set makeup: 3i - AW with KBS Tour V Stiff and stock grips

WITB:
SDLR White 10* Speeder 6.2x TS
Epic 14* AD TP7, Rogue 17* PX Evenflow Black
R15 3H Rogue Black 85
MP-18 MMC 4 - PW Modus 120x

I will post informative information along side my Miura and I will continue to follow and contribute my opinion/experience in the review thread throughout the cycle of the review and beyond (see post # 140 in the above CTL review link).
Please explain how you would approach testing the TaylorMade PSI Irons? Obtain specs of each iron compared to current set. Test both on same day on Trackman and compare swingspeed, ball speed, launch angle, backspin, max height, carry and total distance and provide side-by-side comparison results for posting. Take both sets to the course for on-course testing - testing each iron compared to current set to validate and enhance findings from Trackman, as well as test from rough, fairway adn off the tee for par 3 shots. Provide summary analysis of on-course testing. Provide a write-up of overall takeaway: summarizing Trackman results and on-course results. Discuss feel, looks and playability. Concluding with recommendation on whether I would put them in my bag and displace my current set.

Yes. Been playing for several years now and am getting into equipment more and love discussing it. I've also dabbled in professional photography.
Please explain how you would approach testing the TaylorMade Psi Irons. I'm a details guy, in everything I do. The small things no one else notices, I do. I've always played blades and never owned a new set of irons. I'm really reluctant to give up the blades, but I'm really curious if I can find something that maintains the euphoria you get when you hit a blade pure without it having to be a blade. I'm also one of those rare people who actually feel like I should pay for my mistakes, hence why I punish myself with blades. Between range time and on course real world situations, I would provide thorough feedback by painting a picture that any mom would be proud to put on their fridge. I would also use them to test my ability to beat the old man at work who's been cleaning my clock even though I can hit my 2 iron past his driver. He hits it down the middle every time, not far, but down the middle and he's a Taylormade guy so there must be something there. If they don't work out long term for me, I can give them to him so he can replace his R7's. He has the notion that his lost distance is due to technology and it's about time to upgrade since he's giving up so much distance to someone more than half his age. In short, I'm your guy. Or at least one of your guys. Hopefully.

The shaft and specs I chose for the PSi irons are the same as my current irons so I want to see if the PSi would be better/worse than my current AP2s, all things being equal. As someone that doesn't get to play as frequently as I used to, I'm mainly interested in how forgiving the PSi is compared to my AP2s. I would do this by testing both irons side-by-side on the range and the course. I'm comfortable and confident with my club selections and distances at the course I most frequently play so I could see how the distance of the PSi irons compare to my current AP2s.

Oh man, dignity out the window, pleeeeeaaase pick me TM and WRX!!!! It's been a few years since my last iron purchase, and I'm in the market. I've been eyeing the TM RSi TP and some other OEM player's cavity models from last year to save a bit of $$, but I hit the PSi's in a shop last week and loved the feel. I would be thrilled to test these out more thoroughly! Ok, got that out of the way....
I would start by taking the PSi 6 iron head to head with my own 6 iron using an indoor launch monitor. 10 shots each, recording averages for both clubs and reporting with pictures of the elements that matter most to me, which are dispersion, peak height, spin, carry, and total distance. Then I'd perform the same type of test on the course to get the added benefit of seeing the ball flight in a "live" setting. Finally, I'd play several rounds with the PSi irons to get a feel for how they perform through the bag across the variety of shots faced while playing. All results would be documented in writing and with plenty of pictures to make all the poor souls in northern states very, very jealous :)

I have never been fit for irons.

Yes, I would love to participate in a review thread.

My approach to testing the irons would be to take them to the range and hit them side by side against my Speedblades. I would then play multiple rounds at courses I'm familiar with and compare on course performance against my current gamers. All on course testing would be completed using TM Tour Preferred X balls.

You can choose any no-upcharge shafts. Grips/wraps will be stock

Please explain how you would approach testing the TaylorMade PSi Irons. I'd start by going to the range and just getting a feel for the clubs. Once I made any swing adjustments needed, I'd work on trying to hit all the different shots with them. I like to work the ball different ways to play around the course so I'd like to see on the range that I can hit all of those shots. I'd also like to see how well the slots work when hitting mishits with the club. I won't have access to a trackman so it will be hard to say for sure, but I can at least visually try to tell if there is a difference. Coming from blades I could at least tell how much the difference is between them and the Cobra Fly Z Pro's. After a good range session or two, I'd like to take them out on the course and give them some real action. I usually play where if the pin is on the right, I hit a cut in, if it's on the left, I hit a draw in. So over the course of the round I hit just about every shot you can imagine and require the irons to keep up. I'd be very interested in seeing if these can do it. When I bought the Cobra's this year, it came down to them and the RSI irons so this would be really cool to see the actual difference on the course. I'd like a couple of rounds even though I tend to hit it pretty consistently day to day, but it would be good just to make sure I get enough data for a review. I'd also like to see how the distance gaps are with the PSI. I actually adjusted the lofts in my Fly Z pro's to be similar to the PSI. I had gaps too close and needed to spread them out so I'm very happy companies are starting to spread the gap between clubs now.

Please explain how you would approach testing the TaylorMade PSi Irons
I'm really interested in putting these head to head against my 2014 CBs, which I consider to be very comparable clubs that have been great for me over the last two seasons. I love the look and feel of the CBs and get great forgiveness out of them. One thing that I would like to see is a slightly higher ball flight and spin, and it sounds like these PSi irons may deliver in that category. I'm very interested in the lower CG and seeing if that paired with the C-taper 105s brings flight up a little. I also like the idea of the face slots for forgiveness on off-center hits which has DEFINITELY been something I've seen with thin shots and the sole slot in my CBs (thanks for that, by the way). In short, I prefer a "player's looking" game improvement iron, and these seem to fit that bill to a T, just like my CBs.

In terms of testing them, that will be easy for me. I know my CBs very well after two seasons. I'm very familiar with the flight and distances they produce, and a head to head comparison is going to be easy to pull off. With the season winding down, I've got ample course and range practice time coming, and I'd love to work in a new set of TM irons into the mix. The last few years of TM products have been on fire in my opinion. I got hooked with my R11s driver which stayed in the bag for 4 years. I then went with irons and wedges 2 years ago, and recently brought a SLDR into the bag. I'd have interest in these irons even outside of being selected, so I'd definitely appreciate getting the opportunity to participate in the test.

THANKS!

- I would first take them to the driving range and hit s bucket and compare the ball flight to my current irons. I would see how easy it is to hit fades and draws with this set compared to my current set. Next I would take both sets to the course and hit exact yardages (135, 150, 165, 180) with the same ball for both sets and see if I hit the Taylor Made's any farther, higher, lower, etc. Then I would try and hit a few on course shots using a fade and draw.

Visit here and choose your specs. Include them in your post: TaylorMade PSi (Note Standard PSi. Not Tour) - (4-AW, KBS C-Taper Lite (soft stepped 1x), Stiff flex, 1.0* flat, standard loft, -1/4", Lamkin UTX, 2 wraps, Logo Down, Right Hand).

Please explain how you would approach testing the TaylorMade PSi Irons - I would take my current irons and the PSi's to Club Champion. I would get numbers (dispersion, distance, etc.) from the Trackman machines they use. I would also play several rounds with both sets in my bag and go back and forth to see ball flight, dispersion, how well balls hold the green with different shots.

GolfWRX and TaylorMade are looking for 5 GolfWRX members to test the new PSi Irons and participate in a Member Review Thread. Read how to apply below.

ABOUT TAYLORMADE PSi IRONS:

SUPERIOR FEEL
We took an innovative approach to providing the better player with superior feel. Our new Dynamic Feel System
consists of a multi-material badge that reduces vibration across the face. Combined with re-designed head
geometries, tungsten weighting in the long irons, and forged short irons, PSi offers a truly dynamic take on
delivering superior sound and feel throughout the set.

THE LOOK PREFERRED BY BETTER PLAYERS
In PSi irons, we combined beauty with purpose. Classic lines and carefully-considered shaping give PSi irons
the clean and precise look preferred by better players, while also employing a progressive spec package that
ensures each iron performs optimally for its specific role. Blade length, topline thickness, and offset increase
gradually from the wedges to the long irons, inspiring confidence at address no matter the shot.

CONSISTENT DISTANCE WITHOUT COMPROMISE
Our new cut-thru sole slot and thin, sub-2mm face add impressive ball speed to an iron with such a compact shape, while protecting ball speed on shots struck low on the face. Face Slot Technology is another mechanism
to achieve consistent distance, preserving ball speed on heel and toe mis-hits. The new 360° undercut lowers
the center of gravity to generate the optimal combination of trajectory and distance desired by better players.
