Project X 6.0

Just thought I'd share my experience with hitting the 6.0 's today.

My club had a callaway tent today and I have been eying the Apex cf16 for awhile and wanted to give them a go. So I went through the shaft options and eventually settled on project x 6.0. I was shocked at how good they felt along with the launch, spin, and accuracy.

I do alot of my research based off of reviews on this site and it seemed that project x sometimes gets a bad reputation for poor feel and launch conditions etc. However this obviously was not he case for me. In the past I have played x100, s300, and 120s. So far project x has out performed them all.

Anyway I thought I would just share and would encourage people to gives these a shot.

One of the reasons the 6.0's get bashed by some people is because some OEM's promote them as a "stiff" when they are just a smig softer than an X. There is nothing wrong with them or PX in general. People just need to get the right flex. A 5.5 is a true Stiff and the softest they sell is 5.0 which is an R+.

this exactly, so many people have considered anything in the 5.0-5.5 in the original rifle range to be a regular flex for around 20 years now and thought that would translate to the px. I have been playing px 6.0s for almost ten years now. There are some great px threads from back in wrx early days that are good reads.

Left Dynamic Gold shafts behind a long time ago. For my swing, PX shafts provide better feel, trajectory, distance control, and accuracy. Great shafts that have made a world of difference in my iron game.

I have PX 6.5 Satins. Love how they perform. I agree with Ness that finding the right flex with these is more important than with some other OEM offerings.

I'm enjoying my 6.5 softstep, which flex's out to same as 6.0 px. I've been a huge dg thump at impact fan, but the px is holding its own.

I love Project X shafts, I have the PXi's at the moment which are good but the normal Project X is just so good, I love how stable it feels through the swing and the crisp feeling at impact.

I have played PX 7.0 for as long as I can remember, they are very consistent and ball flight was good, feel was a bit on the harsh side plus they spun a bit much for me, I now play the KBS C-Taper 130X and the difference is clear, feel is great and the ball flight is medium, the best part is spin and distance, I gained about full club and the spin came down as well...don't get me wrong that PXs are great, proper fitting is a must, I mean, Rory plays 7.0 and the most recent winner Emiliano Gillo plays 6.5, so they are great shafts, but it comes down to preference, get properly fitted and they can be the best shafts anyone could ever play...good luck

I very much like PX shafts. I played 5.5 and 6.0. The 6.0 performed beautifully for me, but it was a little hard on my joints if I was playing and practicing a lot. I have since moved to KBS shafts (Tour and Tour V) and they are much better on my joints, but there is still a tiny little bit of joint pain if I do a lot of playing and practicing (i.e. daily) over a stretch of about 3 weeks. I am now giving serious thought to moving having my irons and wedges re-shafted with Recoils over the winter.
