Weather Channel watchers may be familiar with Chris Geith's music.
Songs like Restless Heart, Agent of Destiny and Coincidence were
featured prominently several years ago on "Local on the 8s".

These songs just seem to fit when storms are brewing, lol.

Here is Restless Heart.

I used to watch the weather channel constantly. Now, it always on Golf channel. One day Mrs C said she wished she'd catch me watching porn because I was always on the computer looking at golf stuff. I thought that was pretty cool. She gave me permission to watch porn. So...yknow...I got that going for me. :D

Wow, you guys stay up late, I get up early. I'd better go watch the Weather Channel so we can have it covered 24/7... wouldn't want any pop-up sunshine to come along unexpectedly and have anybody miss out...
[/quote]

Let me give you the rundown. I work over night. Hammer lives in Guam. Conrad is over the road and can check in anytime. Gaucho, Nine and Reason will stay up late. DeNinny never sleeps. Stu and Bick get up early. Vaterman checks in now and then from Denmark. Richard (forged) can pop up anytime and he can be medicated. Which is cool. Richard's better half Maddie drops in too.( We keep that on the down low ;) ) Pigems gets up at a normal time but he's in Nova Scotia. Scotee and Matt are west coasters. There are others like Peanuts, Dan and Bill. I'm sure I missed a few like Papa and Buzz and knock it close.

And Q is from Pluto and is a Patriots fan.

This thing runs 24/7.

Papa!! Good to hear from you brah! I just want to thank you for sharing that video. I've been using a soft ball and doing the massage daily along with my stretching routine everyday after my workouts and man my back feels much better! Had a huge knot in my left glute LOL

Really nice swing nine. Wish I could have that flow haha

Speaking of old habits coming back (you mentioned getting across) I noticed in a video the other day my butt started sticking out again and having more lordotic curve than I should. Guess I'm getting away from the ball more. And wouldn't you know it my back was hurting this weekend haha. Back to the range to work my set up again. But I did hit fairly well (for me).

Forever Changing at this point.......

Good man I'm glad I could help. Wish my athletes would come in saying the same thing haha. Most do but lately we've had some tough ones. Mostly out of our control due to recent injuries but I hate that feeling of having to wait for the body to do what it needs to first before I can have an effect haha. Can't force bones to heal or ligaments to tighten right? Well short of surgery but even then it's a big waiting game sometimes.

Well, that's why I'm being as careful as I can. Trying to prevent an injury, I'm not as young as I once was LOL! I tell you what, it's a painful 20 minutes but I feel GREAT after. Getting pretty good at moving around on the ball to hit my IT band and outer hip area.

As for your set up, that's something I've been working on A LOT lately, sometimes for an hour or more (Im crazy) a mirror does wonders. I'm about to put tape on the ground too just so I can get my set up ingrained into my head. Hope your back feels better.

Guam is ahead, it's Monday night here Oct 26. So basically I'm from the future LOL (lame joke :) )

Gotcha... I get up early to go to work early (Quality Manager so I like to see the 3rd shifters too)
As far as the Weather Channel, I don't usually watch it, but today it looked different than the weather that was outside (crisp clear sky) WC showed rain. So I called them. Some guy in Poughkeepsie answered, seems he takes care of it all. He said in the middle of the night he's down for maintenance to clear the bird dirt off the big dish, they really only have one, so that's what we see for about 6 hours, not rain-bird dirt (those green images). Either that or weather re-runs, depends on how long it takes him. He also says that they're thinking about going into
syndication, much like Seinfeld etc. as they would be right the same amount of time anyway, and it may be funny.

Once read that 2 in 10 folks are walking around with a diagnosable psychological disorder. That engenders two reactions for me. A) That's A LOT of people B) Things like ADD, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, PTSD, Bipolar.... such things didn't even have a name when I was a kid growing up. Folks were just deemed OK or "nuts".

If we wait long enough - there'll be an acronym given to enough "new" disorders that 8 in 10 are diagnosable with at least something. At that point, the weirdo will be the handful of people left who are NOT "diagnosable",

LMAO - "There MUST be something wrong with that guy since I can't find anything wrong with him."

I've been swinging that new 24 degree hybrid and my 21 quite a bit as I just added the 24. I'm convinced that a couple of big problems with these clubs is the amount of offset and the shafts. The thing is that they're very easy to get up in the air. For a lot of recreational golfers that's enough to to make the cash register sing. But, while the center of gravity is obviously low and the faces are obviously high COR (hot), the shafts are pretty long and you're trying to hit the ball a long way. That translates into a lot of high spin shots. I'm really working on playing one stock shot with these clubs right now. A high fade. It's tempting to "work the ball" with them as they're so easy to spin. But, out on the range I'm missing with the draw (mostly a low trajectory or a bit thick when I try and get it up) more than I'm hitting it dead nutz on and that's not something I want to take out on the golf course.

This one is for DeNinny-

I was reading this interview with the Titleist folks about the new AP1s and they talk quite a bit about COG, and very little about MOI, etc. Of course they mention inertia, but it doesn't seem to be a driver of the convo for them like COG is. It seems like they viewed an improved inertia value to be a happy accident as a result of putting the COG where they wanted it. Just from a feel perspective, it seems they are talking about COG stuff about 3 or 4:1 It seems like the majority of what they are trying to discuss is regarding COG values for ball flight stuff, and and COG location based on empirical evidence from their testing.

They mention lofts, and distance, and thinner faces, etc... but it seems to me that what "forgiveness" means to Titleist is determined heavily on those factors that impact COG. If that is the case, it reads like the ability for the average golfer to hit it higher without losing distance is what they are trying to achieve. Again, I am a dufus comparatively about the physics and stuff, but I thought this might give you some discussion points to interpret this for the rest of us self-proclaimed knuckleheads.

This is a good topic and one I have struggled to understand technically how CG location changes the trajectory. The advertisements certainly are NOT clear. I have my theories all laid out and I will get to the details later. What I would like to understand is how you or anybody envision what is happening? The manufacturers are claiming a lowered CG launches the ball higher. While not untrue, how do you "see" this?

Definitely. I'll have it worked out pretty soon. I wasn't reaching for a four iron that frequently, so I don't have to play this club that much. The Titleist hybrids are pretty high quality. I don't play other Titleist clubs other than SC putters, but the hybrids are worth the $$$, not a lot of offset and it's progressive through the set. The "bulge and roll" as they call it makes controlling the spin more difficult. My standards are pretty low from 175 to 190 yards which is where I hit these clubs. Definitely center of the green from those distances.

Hence the farce of what we were talking about earlier, the professional "long, high, and straight" game. They use the lowest launching shafts into the low COG (high trajectory) short irons in order to hold the ball down. Or, you could've just played a combo set with a higher COG in the short irons. There's a lot of cat and mouse in this type of fitting. "WOW, buddy, with all that swing speed (cause you're swinging out of your shoes to keep up with Bubba and the gang) you sure 'balloon' those very low COG irons I just sold you, that'll be an up-charge for these super special low spin, low launch shafts to control that traj, man"

I guess that's where I don't like encouraging amateurs to look at what it will "take" to play like a pro. Pro's usually got there by swinging their swing and developing the muscle memory to pick up more velocity without compromising balance and timing. The worst golfer to play with is the guy who hits it a mile and has no idea where it's going.

I don't know how to see it, actually. That's why I ask. I don't understand how anything outside of the loft presented to the ball at the strike would affect trajectory when I try to think about it conceptually. From my experience though, unless I am off and just think I know what happens when I acutally hit clubs like versus, say my Mizuno TN-91s, is that I can hit them higher, easier. And, again, I could be wrong.

At a previous job, I needed to figure out where to allocate some resources. I built this elaborate predictive model with fancy math in hopes that the folks that needed to buy into it would glaze over the technical stuff, ask me to give them the gist of it, and then buy in based on my pitch. It sort of worked for me, and it kind of feels like what is happening in this article. Lol.
