I very much doubt this is the correct place to post this but it looked like the most current TP Mills thread.

Just a quick question which I think I know the answer to, I'm assuming the cavity stamping on this putter has been done aftermarket? It would be appreciated if any of you good folks could confirm.

Yes that would be correct. There's sellers on ebay who restore the old Spaulding mills putters and adds aftermarket stamping to give them an updated look.

My wife bought me a new Tribute '62 for my B-day the year they came out. I've always loved the putter but with the snow and the Sapphire Blue finish, I didn't game it because I thought it was too "busy" (not to mention pretty). I finally found one in Black Ox and it is going in my bag for the first time this weekend. Love it. :)

David is the best in the business. I just picked up my custom Trad Tradition, plumbers neck. I have 3 customs from David and you can't go wrong with Ming or Trad, flow of plumbers neck.

First off I would like to point out to the mods and fellow members that this is not my finish and is 100% by David Mills so no need to report/tattle on me for posting my work.

 

Ok guys, here's my Christmas present, Yet another very happy custom

 

This is a version 3 of the Ming, it has some subtle differences than the first or second model. Noticeable is the softer look, face milling, micro-bullet sole. In my opinion David has made a great design even better!

 

This is the new stainless, not sure the difference but feels very pure...

Finish is called soft blue.

I grew up in Tuscaloosa for the most part. I got my first Truett as a birthday gift, as a teenager. I. always loved the feel and look. Here are some of my current stash. It is pretty much a revolving door with the David's, they are truely pieces of art in my book. Almost too beautiful to use.

1. Ming Big Tuna with 77's. To pretty to game.

2. Really cool 1B by David. Lots of bling with this putter. Very unique stamping. Chain link stamp

3. #1 with Spider-Man face mill. My current gamer ( I change a lot)

4. Pate dot Tribute Cascata collection. I think this is the "Garage Made" line David did. One of his earlier projects.

5. Alabama 1st edition Roll Tide. Not a handmade but I AM AN ALABAMA FAN!!!!

6. Klassic 254 Tribute to Texas Open lowest score using his putter. Not a handmade

 

The Truetts

7. TP Mills Elf Shoe. Truetts version of the Bullseye. I have seen a few online, got lucky and was able to get my hands on this one

8. Truett #1. Handmade in the early 70's. This one has never been gamed

9. Truett 8802. refinished by David. He really did an awesome job. He added the crosshairs on the toe.

my collection is small but they make me happy. The Ming is just beautiful... I love the brass feel of the gold and the way it patinas, even if it is a little worse for wear and covered in lead tape.

I worked at a pawn shop for about 10 years and when my old boss decided to retire I helped him clean out the shop. While I was clearing out the upstairs storage area I found this gem hiding out under about 50 other old putters. I dusted it off and snapped a couple pictures before showing it to my boss. He had bought it some 15 years ago and had forgot about it.
