How do you stay warm golfing in the cold? What is your solution?

That looks like a better windlite with the tighter Merino Wool. The old Windlite was hefty, and not that great after a washing or two, in terms of appearance.

If you want lambswool, which apparently is a natural water repellent, and a heavier sweater, try proquipusa at the discount. If you want the real Windstopper, look for the Windstopper brand (Goretex) on the goods. Good luck.

Played in 45 degree windy conditions and wore just a wicking half sleeve shirt under the Windlite. Walked with a push cart and was very comfortable. Probably the best golf gear I own for a specific purpose.

Its all about layering. When I lived in Wisconsin, I often played late fall golf in temps in the high 30/low 40s and its really about about layers

I use 2xu cold gear compression + nike long sleeve and sweater. Cold gear leg compression and underarmour storm pants. If i wear anymore, i can't swing well. But OP mobile warming heat vest is epic.

All about the layers. I personally go with a compression layer, a sweater, and then a Gore-Tex jacket. Lower body I go compression layer, thermal layer, then Gore-Tex. I also wear cart mitts with hand warmers if it's really cold:

Got a pair of the Nike Weatherized 2.0 and they are awesome. Good fit and the liner makes you feel like you are wearing sweatpants. Have good thickness to them but not too think. Also fairly water resistant but I have yet to test the limit on them yet.

Did you go with the black or "cargo khaki" color? I ordered a pair of the cargo khaki online, and they were a little green for my taste when I received them. I have an exchange for a black pair on the way. Can't wait to get out and try them.

Yep. Thick socks, long johns, thinner sweat pants, rain pants. Go 3 layers on top, hand warmers in the pockets are also key. Been playing in 40* and cloudy and haven't needed to bust out a heater.

I am from Minnesota. It its 43 degrees and the sun is out and no wind people are outside shoveling their driveways in t-shirts. My advice? Put on some pants and a sweater and walk. You'll be fine.

For whatever reason the UA ColdGear base layer stuff never works for me and just feels cold as soon as I put it on no matter how many layers put on top of them. It's too bad as I really like the fit of the mock neck top.

Just picked up a UniQlo heattech shirt to try as a base and ordered some Nike Weatherized pants although Arizona sounds a bit more enticing at this point.

I will wear the cold gear under armor first. Depending on temp, I will layer a regular turtle neck if really cold but not all the time. Then a golf shirt, and if very cold a thermal vest or pull over. These are roomy, so there isn't any restriction on my swing. Long pants with the under armor is fine. I always wear all weather gloves. I also wouldn't want to play in really cold weather if there was a slow crowd. Its usually wide open, so you keep warm by moving and playing.

I went with the black. They were 25% of at Golfsmith which was nice. They weren't even sure why as they said they just go them in.

Rain pants changed my winter-golfing life. Trying to layer anything underneath regular everyday pants is a fool's errand.

Fleece thermals underneath rain pants is good down to like 20ºF, plus it's so comfortable I could sleep in it.

Does anyone actually have a pair of the "Cargo Khaki" Nike Winterized 2.0's? Are those green? I always think of the color of khaki being a tan or beige and those look green to my bad eyes.

I just got a pair and they are definitely green. I was mad at first because I expected khaki but I figured I didn't really want to go through the trouble of mailing them back so I just kept them. Wore them for the first time yesterday and I like them so much I ordered a black pair too.

Also, after reading about so many people on here liking the Mizuno sweater I broke down and ordered the ugliest sweater I've ever seen on sale on Amazon for $30. I wan't sure what size to get so if this fits and I like it I may order the new [color=#282828]Hayate version later.[/color]

The regular base layer stuff does suck, either need to go to the 2.0/3.0/4.0 Base or the Infrared.

I played in the 40's Saturday and wore my 4.0 top, had to take it off and swap out in the parking lot (too warm).

Cotton under rain gear is a bad combo in my experience. If you start to sweat at all, you are done.

I never wear cotton when layering for cold weather, a no-no.
