Walk, and carry your bag. Throw on a thermal layer and keep your head and hands warm. All there is to it.

If it's cold I'm walking. This is what I currently wear down to 45-50 degrees.

Under Armour ColdGear Infrared base layer (link)
Under Armour Storm Sweaterfleece 1/4 zip (link)
TBD (searching for a new full zip wind jacket that won't break the bank)
Nike Weatherized pants (link)

I will play until the course Supt tells me I can't. I have a simple wardrobe of cold weather golfing.

UA Base layers (top AND bottom) from 2 to 4. Colder gets a higher number.
FJ Mock 1/4 Zip
Wool sweater
Microfiber Slacks
UA Cold Gear socks (knee length)
FJ Winter Golf Gloves
Titleist beanie

And finally...... Walk the course if you physically can.

If this hasn't been said yet I'll say it. For all of you guys and gals that like to walk there is no better base layer than silk long johns. IMHO.

Silk. The ultimate base layer. Thin, light weight and warm.
Im a huge fan of silks, the weight to warmth ratio is simply amazing. I prefer multiple very thin layers versus heavy cumbersome jackets, etc. Match w/cart cover, blankets and cart designed cup heater and I can play in literally any conditions assuming the course is open. Oh, Bullet Rye and a little bluetooth music never hurts! Brands of choice....

1.) www.clubpro.com, 3x4 universal cart cover (the BEST!)
2.) Mr. Heater Golf Cart Heater (new model, it's VERY nice I've used mine a lot already)
3.) 2 fleece blankets (one for back cushion and one to cover the seat)
4.) Infinity One bluetooth Speaker (best I've ever used)
5.) Bullet Rye whiskey

That's my plan and I'm sticking to it! BB

easyy, there is so much great stuff out there , when it's cold 39f or worse , I will wear some kind of thin cold gear sweater maybe an another cold gear sweater and one of the footjoy lined wind cold sweaters. running pants under normal golf pants is almost too warm. very important to get out in a really cold day to climatize yourself. don't have the heat on on way to course , the little sweat will make you really cold. if there's no wind i will only wear two layers for 40 and up. the footjoy lined sweater is a must they are warmmmm.

The lined sweaters are FANTASTIC, my favorite being Fairway & Greens wool version. It's just a little thinner and not as bulky. I love winter golf it's fun!

I too love playing when it is colder BB. I live in the south so it's not like I'm dealing with subzero temperatures. But it gets down in the teens. I draw the line at below freezing average daily temperature. I just can't deal with that. But I really like playing in the 40s and 50s

I dealt with it by moving to a warmer country, and then moving even further south...

Uniqlo heat-tec polo-neck shirts are great. Also, Japan sells these things called "kairo" which you slap on you body and they heat up and keep you warm. One of those on the lower back before a round is pretty good. When a friend of mine from tropical Singapore plays here in the winter, he sticks kairo all over himself. I'm a bit afraid to ask him if there is anywhere he hasn't applied one.

The cold has never bothered me much. I always walk. As long as no snow is on the course and we're open, I'll play in any weather. Snow and ice is the enemy. We played many rounds in the past few years with a wind chills in the single digits.

In the upper 40s and lower 50s, I'm still in shorts. When it's really cold (30 or below) I break out the cords for pants, wear an under armour cold gear mock, normal golf shirt and sweater vest on top of it with my wind breaker on top of that.

My body is never the issue. It's the hands and feet that can be problems. I use wool socks and keep the hands in my footjoy mitts between shots. Keep 3 or 4 balls in my pocket and swap out for each shot. The big problem is playing the bounces on the frozen ground.

I'm an all season outdoor runner and the only thing that every gets me is the hands and feet. I can be sweating bullets in 20 degrees but the hands take hours to recover sometimes, even with gloves.

I don't have to "bundle up" a lot because I live in SE Texas but it does get cold and windy here at times and totally miserable if you thrown in a little rain.
Socks- pair of sock liners under a normal pair of crew socks.
Bottoms - if really cold, I have a good thin base layer that I will wear under slacks and then my rain pants over the top of that.
Tops - long sleeve base layer, then a turtleneck over that. I like the turtlenecks instead of mocks because I can turn the neck up and block more cold on my neck. Over that, cold and not wet, I will wear my Windlite sweater. If cold and wet, I wear a light fleece pullover and my rain jacket.
Head - I want my ears warm. I have numerous varieties of caps, hats, crap to pull over your ears. Whatever, just keep them warm. have several neck gators also. I pull them up over my face if need be to try and keep as much of my face warm as possible.
Gloves - FJ winter glove and if need be cart mitts over them.

Or....just stay home and drink whiskey. :)

well first off I would not golf in weather below 50*. Although the times I have I wear a UA cold gear base layer, long sleeve cotton shirt or sweater, base layer on bottom, nike golf pants over. long socks, beanie and FJ cold weather gloves.

Played today 43 degrees, sunny with 18mph winds. With my setup I was peeling layers off because I got to warm. Sunday is another sorry, expecting frost then mid 30's with a chance of flurries. Today was a nice day to acclimate and as always I LOVE IT. BB

I'm in KC so 30's is common in the winter:

UA hunting cold gear socks
UA polar base pants & LS shirt
UA cold gear pants
Flannel LS Henley
North Face Denali fleece
Tmag winter gloves

Can someone post a link to this mizuno windlite pullover? Pretty common piece within the group and although the north face is warm it's not very flexible for the swing.

Not in their current lineup of apparel at mizunousa.com. You might try rockbottomgolf, 3balls.com, eBay, etc. Pro Quip has a great lambswool sweater with a wind lining that is higher quality, and higher price. Go to proquipusa, and use PLAYWELL for 25% off
