Nike Lunar Control 4: The Official Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Got my pair today, hopefully I don't fall over walking when I look down since those ticks are so distracting. I may even 6-putt, so very distracting.

Damn those ticks, I hate them.

Your going to fall over walking because it looks like a 4 year put those shoes on and tied them.
Well, they were still factory laced. That would make more sense.

But I tied them up when I got home, laces look better. But I still fear the ticks to be distracting. I hope people know I'm wearing Nike shoes. They might not be able to tell.

How is the toe box compared to prior Lunar Control versions? I hope that Nike made it a little roomier.

They are slimmer than the 3's in the toe area from when I tried them on and walking around in them.

I would say out of all the Lunar Control shoe series. The 2's have the widest toe box.

The 4's are a slimmer design. From front to back, fits different than the others. Lowest profile shoe.

I think they could have made the swoosh a little bigger. There's still some room there. Saving that for the limited edition probably.

Oh damn thats not good. The LC3 toe box in the Medium was the right width...I better try on the LC4 on before ordering them.

And lower profile than the LC3? I thought the sole design was the same?

And the laces are not the thins ones like the LC3 or did you change them out?

Those are the stock laces, honestly they lace better than the LC3s in my opinion and the big stride they made with these is stability the lacing system REALLY locks your foot down, yes they are slimmer than the LC3 and 2 especially in the toe box but having a pretty wide foot there is definitley enough room

They were at DSG? I thought they were not going to hit stores until December 1?

Yes. That's what I couldn't understand. There was no rhyme or reason as to how they were stacked on the shelves and no display model anywhere to be found. I'll be back at that store this Friday, I'll see if they still have them.

Do the tongues fall over to the side like it looks in the photos?
no they do not the tongue stays in place very well I have a few range sessions and 36 holes on mine already. Some places seem to be holding them in the back and others are throwing them up on the shelves early, despite nikes wishes.

There is a slit in the middle of the tongue so your ankle can flex forward while walking without jamming into an immovable tongue. Kind of ingenious actually. Not sure why the photos above make it look so much like the tongue is over to the side.

L---How is the sizing on the 4s? I ask because in every Nike shoe I have ever owned, I've gotten 10.5 medium width.....that is until I got the LC 3's. 10.5 was waaaay too long and the medium width was waaaaaay too tight. Ended up having to get them in a 10 wide for the right fit. Planning on getting a pair of these, but just want to get the right size the 1st time. Discovering this sizing deal on my LC3 ID's took like 8 weeks!!!!!!!

Not the best to ask, I go true to size in all my shoes, went true to size in these as well and they fit perfect.

I will suggest to best to try them on before buying.

If it helps, I wear 10.5 wide in other Nike Golf shoes, including LC3s (11 in Nike running shoes and 10 wide in FJ) and the 10.5 wides were a perfect fit in the LC4s.

Hmm. Less enthused seeing them on someone's feet. The swoosh doesn't bother me but that tongue looks terrible - it gives the look of being all sloppy off to the side. I don't like that. Still planning to try a pair on before I make any decisions.

The tongue doesn't do that. He just threw them on straight out of the box with laces still tied from the factory. The tongues stay stable and have a split in the middle that keeps them from wanting to move from side to side. I recommend trying on a pair and bending forward at your ankels to see the range of movement that small design improvement allows. As mentioned earlier, ingenious.

Bummed....I just read on Nike's Facebook page that no wide widths will be available in the LC-4's until early 2016! I had never had to get wide until the LC 3's came out. If the LC 4's could feel & fit like the LC 2's...I'd buy every color way as IMO that was Nike's most comfortable golf shoe they've ever released!

Mine will be here next week. Got the black and white ones. Also ordered the Flyknit Chukkas but they won't be here until March 1st.
Where did you order the Chukkas from?
From my club. They won't ship until Mar 1st though.

Got my LC4s in and the only thing I'm disappointed in is the shoe laces. They are cheap laces. I prefer the rounded ones instead of the flat ones. Will probably change those out.
