Here is my finished article. I have always loved my Ping Craz-e H plumbers neck model putter however the insert was starting to feel "dead" and a bit inconsistent. Ping sort of forced my hand by dropping the plumbers neck from the Craz-e line therefore a full custom refurbishment was called for. I've always admired the work done by Charles from Spryevo and after a few emails we had a plan of action in place. Only a slight geographical issue lay in the way. Me being in Scotland and Charles based in the USA. I could have had the "refurbishment" work done in the UK and have used brilliant people like Chris Finch Golf previously who do outstanding work, real top class amazing refurbishment, however I needed the old insert replaced to give the putter a new lease of life. I opted for a deep milled copper insert which added 60g to the overall head weight. Charles fixed the pigs ear that Ping made of drilling out my shaft with a super welding job and drilled out the hosel to accommodate the 0.370 tip shaft I picked up. Added a Garsen Ultimate grip and a Paul Lawrie (bit of a hero of mine) headcover. Appreciate not a "fully murdered out" putter but as close as I dared and I love it. Feel and roll is tremendous.

 

This is amazing! Great custom job there. I'd love to roll that bad boy. What was the final head weight with the copper insert?

410 +/- I believe. I actually got that excited when it arrived I just got to work fitting the shaft and grip and forgot to weigh it for an exact weight!

Should plug the work that Spryevo dis for me a bit more as it really is absolutely fantastic.

 

As mentioned, he welded up the big gaping hole that Ping made in the hosel and bored out the hosel to 0.370.

 

Boiled out the old face insert and alignment aids.

 

Light sand blast all over.

 

Coated the head in flat black Teflon.

 

Made the BeCu insert and milled it.

 

Made new alignment aids out of Italian race grade carbon fibre.

 

Finally black paint fill on the sole.

 

This wasn't a quick process and it took longer than both Charles and I anticipated but boy it was worth the wait. You guys based in America are lucky to have Charles on hand to make these fabulous inserts. If you are thinking of upgrading or changing an insert in your putter my advice is stop thinking about it and just contact Spryevo NOW.

Just picked this up. Really wanted a Cameron Del Mar, but couldn't find one I liked, so I decided to get this while I searched. I had the classic #6 so it made sense, and was only 50$. I'm in love with it. May never look for another puttwr again, but might start hoarding these.

 

Added black shrink wrap, and a slim salty grip. Then paint filled everything in black and the weight and steel in pink. It's dirty as I've used it a few times.

 

I tried stamping my old#6 and it didn't go very well so i figured best not stamp this one.

I just saw this forum this afternoon I liked the look so much I just did my Scotty studio design 1.5 flow neck that was gun blued. (Needs to have a new coat or two though now or a black oxide maybe

Anyway it it had the original paint scheme red yellow and white now all black just did it 20 mins ago hahaha

I think another gun blue or maybe the black oxide it will be stealth

BOS can blacken the head. You can buy a black shaft, have Putter lounge blacken both. Also PM TPDawn Patrol. I'm sure that he can do it as well.

Question for all that has a black putter shaft. I just got one on my Scotty, not sure where from. First time today I put it in play and the shaft has two chip marks from where i put the putter back into the bag. Probably from hitting my iron heads. It looks like the shaft was painted matte black. Any ideas what I should do to make sure it doesn't chip again? Don't really want to replace the shaft as I'd probably have to get a new grip. Currently on his the black midsize custom Scotty Winn grip.

 

Should i respray it with matte black BBQ / Heat spray from Home Depot? or is there a more elegant solution? I'll probably sand down the original shaft if I have to repaint it. Touch up paint will probably look horrible huh?

Some guys use black heat shrink on the shaft.

They did it all, chopped it down, re-gripped, painted shaft and head.

Pink writing? I'm sure that's a dead sign that Bubba Watson used this in the masters before.

This is my Newport 2.5 after being refinished by jrich -- fresh painted images.

 

It is being finished off with a black shaft and black matador. Will post updated pictures of the full look once I get it back.

 

This was originally purchased from another WRXer - the front skull stamp was already on when I bought it and not done by jrich.
