Just picked this up a couple days ago. Already changed up the color scheme and thinking some other options. I've never sent a putter in to be refinished and was thinking about sending this in to get a makeover possibly thinking about going murdered out. I know of multiple options as far as who to send this to (Slighter, BOS, Continental, Putter Lounge, Putter Spa, ect.) Just wanted some input on options for the club and options for who to send this to! Debating on sight dot or sight line and the actual finish. Black? Smoked grey with black fill?

If you want the best black finish go to BOS, but if you would like additional custom work done (hosel, milling, etc...) I would give Slighter a quick email, he does amazing work!

I love the murdered out look until the putter is behind the ball, then I have difficulty lining up the putter because I can't clearly see the sight lines....good grief that makes me sound like an old man.

Well, I must say, this thread was definitely the inspiration for this creation.

 

First things first; I have to give huge props to jrich, he did an amazing job and I can't wait to work with him again.

 

I bought this Scotty Cameron 2012 Select Newport a couple of weeks ago on the BST knowing that I would get her restored at some point. Here are some pics.

 

 

 

 

 

After I received the putter, I tossed around sending it in to the custom shop, but I couldn't handle the wait and I wasn't concerned about having SC perform all of the work. I don't remember how, but I came across jrich and the putter spa and was really impressed with his work. I bit the bullet, emailed jrich, and the next thing you know, the putter was on its way to Illinois. I received the following pictures this evening. I can't wait to see her in person.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The only thing left to do is paint the SuperStroke grip with vinyl paint.

 

The copper weights are killer!

Mannkrafted MA/44 Sick-n-Twisted Mini. Sole weld bead, sound slot, Head was torched blue then black ox'd over. Blacked out YSC, blacked out pistolero (no one makes a grip that compares with that one's pronounced butt section).

I agree with the poster that said basically "it's not completely mudered out", but still it is an unbelievably great looking putter. The all black "murdered out putters" looks cool, but this putter may be my favorite in this thread. A putter with a completely black finish and stamping/engravings looks good, but it can seem to hide a some of that great stampings/engravings IMPO.

Scotty Cameron Studio Design 1. I begged and pleaded for a black shaft when I sent it in to the Custom Shop to get refurbished, but was denied. Pretty close to blacked out though!

After used heat shrink on shaft and plasti dip on head. Just a fun project so I used a cheap putter. There is nothing permanent on it so I may try one of my more expensive putters
