NIKE VS. TITLEIST

I'll say Titleist, although some dude named Eldrick plays Nike stuff. Both must be pretty good then, eh?

In my opinion....

 

Drivers - Nike (Never was a fan of Titleist drivers)

FWs - Nike (The T60 and SQ2 are unreal)

Irons - Nike (I love every players iron Nike comes out with)

Wedges - Titleist (Vokey..duh, but the SV Tours do look good)

Putters - Titleist (Scotty...duh, Nike is improving though)

Balls - Titleist (Pro V is just a better ball than the Platnium, IMO)

 

Although I could easily play a bag full of either....

I voted titleist, partly due to never having tried much Nike, but there is something about Nike stuff that turns me away, just my opinion though...

How come the younger guys seem to like and accept Nike golf gear, while the older guys hate Nike golf gear and will stick to the more classic brands ?

 

I'm torn in between - I like some of Nike's new golf gear and hate some of the other stuff from Nike.

I am a young guy whom refuses to have a swoosh on any golf object i own. I was the same way in hockey too. I refused to accept Nike into hockey, maybe it is me being stubborn. I have nothing against it and the people whom use it, i just won't bother using it. Come to think of it i think i might be the only person whom does not have any Nike or Titleist object in my golf bag. I never really thought about it till i read this this!!

Whatever club I hit the best. Nike makes great product, but I hit Titleist stuff better for the most part.

Never liked Nike clubs, ever. I'm just one who can't accept them into golf, even though they do make some nice looking equipment, which does perform.

 

I have played Nike ONE balls, and like them. But clubs, no way.

 

I also don't fancy Titleist woods of any sort. Irons are nice, Spin milled Vokeys have a tendency to spin too much at times, and I love the Pro-V1x ball. Oh, and their putters aren't too bad from what I've heard either. I have one and wouldn't get rid of it for anything.

I went to a Nike demo day today and i can say that it was bad. I hated almost everything. The only nike clubs I have ever liked is the forged blade. Their beautiful at set up and feel like butter. Titleist makes almost everything well. I can't say that i am a big fan of the irons though, Just a personal thing.

So you wouldn't have accepted Taylormade in the days of the pittsburgh persimmon...every1 has to start somewhere. Titleist wasn't here the day golf was created

I gotta go with Titleist. I actually did a comparison of their drivers today at the range. I hit a SuMo2, 10.5* stiff stcok shaft vs. a 907 D2 9.5* with a V2 76-S. Titleist, no contest. Man was that ever a sweet combo. They didn't have any other Nike combinations so I mean Titleist has a huge advantage just because of the shaft. However, the 907 was just so amazing. They got it right big time on this one. Beautiful setup, beautiful results. I'm a fan. Sumo2 was no pushover though, it still put the ball out there nicely- just not quite as far as the 907, but that's also because of the shaft.

driver- titleist, they are really solid sticks, nike is right there

fwys- titleist hands down, love my 906

hybrids- titleist no question, dont like the slinghsots

irons- nike, the blades are great, nothing beats them, best out there

wedges- nike.... just kidding, titleist all the way

putter- camerons are the best, nike is not too close here, a little off but the tmag putters are getting better

balls- pro V are the best and platinums are nice too

i have an all titleist bag..ignore sig... and i have an all nike bag. i would use my nike blades but my 670 are a bit easier to hit but my mid summer, nikes will be in bag

Driver = After trying the old SQ driver and getting blown away by how easy it was to hit straight and long, I would go with it, but Titleist are a close second.

 

FW = Titleist 906's all the way

 

Hybrids = Also Titleist 585's, very nice

 

Irons = Titleist has to win here, but love the look of Nike blades

 

Wedges = Vokeys

 

Putter = Can't go passed Cameron & Co

 

Balls = Um, Pro V's - Nikes are just a little to hard

 

Titleist is easily better overall

I think Titleist makes better clubs in every department. But my swing is good enough where I could play a full bag of either and be just fine. Nothing better than the feel of the tour issue 905R I own when you really pure one.

you can probly tell in my WITB only thing non titleist is bag shoes putter and ball I think, but I occasionally switch an NXT or a ProV for my normal e6

Custom capabilities have a lot to do with it too. If Nike offered close to half the custom shaft options as Titleist, they would do much better with better players. Also, I think if Nike made some sort of tour line with slightly different drivers, fairways and whatever else (SQ Tour wasn't far off), they would do much better.
