Is the Golf Channel coverage the same as the Sky coverage? Because all Sky is literally showing is the Spieth and McIlroy groups and a Patrick Reed putt every now and then. I mean, every shot from one of those 7 guys.

Its dreadful. We've got guys in the top 20 on this leaderboard playing right now who we havent seen a shot from because of the obsession with these guys, and a few of them arent even playing that well.

So what exactly makes Troon "Royal?"

All snarky comments are appreciated.

At this time I do not have a response. I am not as quick as you Dave. I however reserve the right to edit this post and return to it another time.

There actually is an answer which is once the club celebrated 100 years of existence it received the "Royal" moniker. Not very funny though.

And who exactly was the Clyde in the Firth of Clyde?

Looks like yet another British Open where your chances of winning were decided on Monday...

True to a degree, but half the field had that advantage. Not quite black and white, part of the charm of the Open to me

There are lots of charming aspects to the British Open (an event I've been fortunate enough to attend), however the regularity with which ~half the field has almost no chance to win because of their tee time is not one of those...

Yesterday was good playing conditions pretty much all day, morning starters was probably less wind. Today the morning starters had wind and rain and the afternoon mainly just had wind. I'm not really sure what side of the draw has been better

Out of the top 15 players on the leaderboard only 1 of them (Stricker) was early Thursday and late Friday wave.

its not supposed to be charming, its a test to determine the best golfer of the year, if you are on wrong side of the draw its just tough luck.

And just as you write this, Steve is looking at a lost ball situation...

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
