2017 Taylormade M1 Hybrid & M2 Iron Photos!

My original thought was not to disclose the source of these golf clubs. But the interests are just too high to ignore.

I share my pictures on GolfWRX to make it a better place for all golfers, as we all do.

This was my original intention when I wrote my first topic about my golf life in China. I still and will continue to believe in it.

I said the same thing to our great editor, Zak, too.

This has nothing to do with "legitimacy, authority, and common sense" or what have you. And I do not like people telling me what I can and cannot post on this forum, especially when my intention is to contribute.

I am a member of an amazing golf club, which belongs to a renowned Casino. I won't say the name, but if you read my old post you'd know.

A friend of mine, also a member of my club, has tremendous connections in the equipment business - think the recent Honma IPO in Hong Kong.

So, getting a few Taylormade sticks is really no big deal.

I hope this answers your question.

Alright, I'm not sure where my original post got so twisted but my overall point has been totally lost.

If some random guy showed up at your course tomorrow with all the new TaylorMade clubs 4+ months before they even are rumored to be releasing most everyone would say, "Wow! Where the heck did you get those?!" Apparently WRX is so jaded by prerelease info and pics they don't even wonder anymore they just fawn over them and ask for some crown pics...

I guess I will bow out and fall in line with the drones and say thanks for the high-resolution professional shots, you are the man!

Hope no one at Dicks Sporting Goods gets fired...

I agree the question should be asked. It's weird that a guy who's screen name I've never seen before all of a sudden comes on here and starts showing pictures of the whole line. In the past, companies would leverage WRX with an embargo to not allow the images until a certain date. But for some reason, that's not happening, and I'm scratching my head as to why. Is it because TM doesn't care? Does the pending sale have to do with it? Or do I need to put on a tinfoil hat and come up with some really off the wall explanation?

You're supposed to ask him for some side by side pics with the current M1 and then give him your undying gratitude because he posted pictures.

My hat is on as well, seems so odd to me. We get some grainy cell phone pics and then week or two later some pro-quality pics surface from a rich Worldly cat who hangs out with some high level Chinese execs that got him the clubs as a thank you before they've even gotten into Dustin Johnsons hands.

I guess you haven't seen it all till you've seen it all.

The weight in the hybrid is interesting. I was just thinking the other day how I'd like to rig my hybrids where I naturally draw the 19 degree one, but naturally cut the 21 degree one. The 19 for off the tee when needed and the 21 for landing on greens.

This will help with that.

wow do those look cheap

I'm betting that was also said about the current M1/2 Drivers....cheap turned out quite well.

Hey, I've said the same thing about some clubs over the years.....never played em either. I might have missed out on some great options but the bottom line is, who am to call someone's Clubs cheap? For that reason, I never call anyone's clubs cheap as I now just say, not a look that I would play.

It's a tuff biz and you have to respect all the efforts and dreams from the guy in his garage, to the multi billion dollar OEM's that drive the business.

Callaway's firing people for doing this, but TaylorMade seems to be planting people amongst us. I guess different brands doing different things to accomplish the same thing. Curious that GolfWRX rips one down and the other continues. "First to know"... but only if the advertisers approve. Serving at the pleasure...

I understand that TaylorMade has been pretty much purchased by 3 private investors. News should be public before PGA show. Perhaps the casino owner is one of the investors and had his buddy leak these photos to generate interest to help his investment.

That's my conspiracy theory at least.

No it isn't, I am asking because I am curious. Not sure where you come into play in this scenario...

If he can't answer the question then they certainly weren't obtained through legitimate means. Authenticity questions are definitely in play and that could be cleared up knowing their origin as well.

It is cool to see the detailed pictures of the clubs though. You can't post pictures of unreleased golf clubs in your personal possession on a forum like this without saying how or why, that is common sense

My head also hurts. Didn't OP just do this? Or did I just divide by zero...

I didn't write the sentence correctly. I meant - You can't post pictures of unreleased golf clubs in your personal possession on a forum like this without saying how or why AND NOT EXPECT PEOPLE TO ASK, that is common sense

Just because your tour rep said no one "should" have them does not mean no one has them.

"Should" is a normative statement. Trained as an economist, I like positive statement.

Interesting to find the very same pic of the hybrids now on the MGS Instagram page. Did they lift them from this site?

Looks like it to me. I posted something about it on Twitter and got a salty DM back.

I can see now why our site doesn't allow their links. They don't give credit.

Thanks for the pictures. I am not too sure what all the hubbub is about surrounding them. Pre-release pictures get released like this all the time. I just take them all with a grain of salt with the understanding things can/will change to the final product. Shoe industry is notorious for leaks like this early from overseas factories. Car manufacturers throw on some camo and new rides get leaked in the wild. Golf clubs are no different. Live and let live folks.

With that said, I am interested in the moveable weights in the hybrids. Would like to see how that would affect my miss.

Looks like that is something some posters are angling for.

Face picture, here you go.

I've read in many responses that people want a deeper face. But I'm afraid that's not the case with M2.

"Forgiving" is the trend now. If you want a deep face, go JDM.

Oh, they all do in fact have series numbers.

And just for the record, to all conspiracists out here, you guys really made me laugh.

Looks like the heel portion of the face might be a little more rounded off than the original M2. I don't think the shape of mine rounds off the same way the one in the picture looks to.
