The final field is out with the exception of the Monday's two qualifiers. Quite a few new names in the field from the priority list due to some of the top players giving this tournament a miss. I'm not going to make any predictions as to who will take this out but I don't think we will see any major upset here. Be good to see the year kick off with an exciting finish come the Sunday...

Well, it IS the first tourney of the year. It's a good opportunity for a second tier player to get their full ride for the next two seasons.

No doubt. However, with two months off after the CME, you'd think the players would be itching to get back on the course. The purse is decent, about average for the year. With the loss of the Coates Championship, there are 3 weeks between the tournament and the start of the early Australian/Asian Swing. 'Plenty of time to recoup and travel.

Is the spotty weather a factor?

There're 2 open weeks between Pure Silk and Australia; more importantly there are 3 weeks between Pure Silk and Honda Thailand where we'll see all top ten players.

Essentially, the off season for players like In Gee Chun is 14 weeks, more than a quarter of the year.

In Gee is still nursing an injury, so the extended layoff is no surprise.

A new season! I've lurked here for the past two. I've really enjoyed reading the threads to get more out of each tournament. It adds a lot seeing different opinions and knowledge. Especially any behind the scenes things that you'd never know just from watching.

I'm so glad In Gee is not here and is taking more time for her back to heal. That is very good, hope it's mending perfect.

Some names in this field I don't recognize. I wonder if this is a good first-win opportunity for anyone. There's a lot that would be great for, I'd love to see Xi Yu win.

Also I'm cheering for Hee Young Park!

Welcome! Always good to see some new posters.

Yeah, with a weaker field, it's a good chance for a few of the lower ranked players to grab their first win. The elements always seem to play a big role here. If a player is good in the wind, they have a decent shot here.

In trying to find the full field, I have a question?

How in the world does the LPGA website get WORSE every year. (end rant)

I'm finally starting to get the hang of it, but it could sure use some TLC.

Final Field: Start on the www.lpga.com main page. Click/mouse-over the 'Tournaments' dropdown, and select 'Tournaments'. The first entry is the Pure Silk. Click on the 'View Tournament' link next to Hyo Joo's photo. Click on the 'Final Field>' link in the left-center of the page.

Excellent, Argonne.

I have a text file where I keep info like this so I cut and pasted your instructions into it.

Slightly pathetic, But we do as we must.

Guam, this was like about a month ago. She did a charity golf tournament, then just hung out and played golf. Of course no one really knows who she is (general public). My Aunt works for the Visitors Bureau here and she said "there this Korean LPGA pro visiting and I met her, Hee something" Haha
