Anybody else reading the comments on the cover page write-up? Lol

 

I normally try to completely avoid looking at internet comment sections, but being a part of this obviously made me more curious to see what people are saying. It's interesting having the "insider" perspective and seeing how different our results were compared to the way people interpret them through an article. I can see how people are calling it marketing/propoganda, and honestly if all I saw was the data provided I would probably say the same thing. Having paid pretty close attention to Schnee, Brian, and obviously my own fitting and results the next day on-course though, it's a no-brainer to me that we all saw improvements from our previous clubs, and not just in roll-out either.

 

The internet is a funny place :)

 

No matter how the article was written there's always going to be a herd of people that have to be negative for the sake of being negative.

I not really a Taylor Made guy but I have seen and read no bias in the reviews personally. It looks like you guys had a great time and your results put their equipment on my testing radar. So I guess that's kind of the point of the trip in the first place right?(to generate interest)

Just finished reading through everyone's reports and really appreciate the feedback regarding the new gear. I'm bummed for you guys that the weather didn't cooperate for the entire bag fitting. Like one of you mentioned, my biggest question mark at the moment is that transition from irons to hybrids and/or fairway woods.

 

Despite reading wanting to hear about the irons most, I am pleased to hear all the feedback about the new golf balls. I will definitely be picking up a sleeve or two to test out again he PV1x and zstar x.

Thanks for the comments. We really had a great time. It really was a shame that the weather did not cooperate given that TM had such a full day planned for us. I am still working with both of the ball model to see which one fits best. I will say that I think it is the best feeling ball I have tried. And I agree 100% about the irons. I'm very excited to try them when they become available.

Agree! I was looking forward to hitting the 770's and M1's so bad! I did hit a hand full in the bay, but nothing beats hitting outside!

Pretty clear lower spin and lower launch contributed to more rollout.

I took my fitting results from club champion last month, combined with some more personal testing of TM options and I'm putting the finishing touches on my choices. Going to send it in tonight most likely.

Don't get too discouraged; I think every trip has those kind of detractors, our's certainly did.

 

All you can do is be honest and objective, which you are.

 

Agreed, don't let them bother you. There will always be jealous haters and they will never change. My group which is one of the earliest Kingdom groups, had few of those negative comments. I just ignored them as bitter guys that hides behind their monitors.

 

Can't make everyone happy anyway.

I was wondering how this would work. It's a shame you guys didn't get to hit more of the new offerings - especially the fairway woods. How many of you are going to go for a deep face 3 wood? Are you guys leaning towards the Milled Grind or MD Forged wedges?

I'll definitely try every fairway they have. I hate hitting indoors of mats! I'm going MG wedges for sure and even considering A wedge in the 770's if I go that route.

They do look really sharpe. They felt good of the mat, but again I have no idea how the turf interaction is. Wedges I think you really have to test outside on real course conditions. Everything else you can get pretty close of mats, but outside is where you should get fit! I'll just have to make a educated guess.

Yup, hitting off real dirt is the only way to pick the right grinds. I liked the 2014 ATV grind a lot from the sand, but not off grass for some reason, of course, didn't know that until I bought it, haha.

M1 9.5 with GD BB and was fit into the Spider Limited. I'll hit them both, I'm not really leaning either way. I haven't gamed a TM fairway since the V steel.
