I think rules issues should be closed at the end of the day's play in some fashion. Totally agree issues from TV, other players, anyone, should have some reasonable time limit.

 

Maybe except for signing for an incorrect card, done when the player signs? Don't know.

 

Not sure the outrage would be there if Suzann was the penalty recipient, but it's still lame to get penalized for the round the day before.

The biggest load of total BS. I hope the USGA passes the rule that prevents this kind of asinine behavior from happening. Bad enough to call in from home...but calling in 24 hours after the fact? Total crap. I get the rules are the rules...but it's bias as what about the non-intentional violations by players who aren't under the cameras because they aren't contending? Seems like there is a bias there because if you leading or contending...all the home referees have access. If you're not then you're under the radar.

 

If I won a tournament like this...I would NOT be jumping in the pond...after all you didn't win it...you got a BS gift from a home based umpire...and that is no way to really win. If I didn't win it because I was the best, but because of BS misfortune...then it's a hollow victory.

Honestly if someone other than Lexi wins this, how could that player feel like they really won? If I won a tournament because someone else got a 4 stroke penalty for something like this, I would never look back feeling like I should have won.

Right? You has TV announcers, 2 caddies and another player PLUS rules officials on the green when this happened.... IMO if they didn't see it, it never happened!!

I would not accept it, if I could id sign a score to tie me with Lexi or something. If that wasnt possible for a tie and a play off, Id refuse to accept the torphy and the win. Sportsmanship and Honor is just as important as win.

Players from all tours are at risk, they need to band together and boycott events or press conferences until this can no longer happen. No more rule infractions called in from viewers.... period!
