What shafts are you playing in them...the stock LZs?

DG S400 AMT Tour Issue.

Thanks Easyyy. Anything you were particularly surprised by with them? Also do you think they will get much following on Tour?

They are freakin loooooong in the long irons. I will get them on trackman soon but on the course they just popped off the face. Great trajectory on the mid to mid-higher side on the long irons to a predictable "forged cb" flight on mid to short heads.

They felt really good as well. Not muted like PXG either. They had a solid feel and a nice sound off the face that suggested there is something filled in the head but not to much. Meaning not muted.

I went out again today and the 4 and 5 irons were some of my favorite clubs. They were simply fun to hit.

The 7-pw seem more typical. As I worked through the set into the PW I was pleasantly surprised that the shots resembled a more "typical" players cb set. Mid to long irons however had some supercharging nitrous oxide something in them.

Fun and exciting comes to mind. I love the juice of the GI iron... but add that in a players chassis???? Please... Sign Me Up! I am in the honeymoon phase right now. But the honeymoon is a rockin. :pimp:

It must really suck getting to hit all of the new stuff coming out easyyy

It NEVER gets old. I love it.

I could see this serving a similar purpose as the TMB has in the traditional 3-4 iron replacement. Isn't big and chunky like a driving iron, but probably more forgiving than the traditional forged CB/MB.

I could see myself ditching my 3H for something like this. It would fall in line with the cost of a new hybrid. I'm that sense the cost is a little easier to stomach.

Looking forward to seeing your #'s. Specifically in the long irons.

Thx easyyy. I hit the Pro 6 and 8 iron with the stock LZ only. Great feel off the face and easy to hit. Very very high flight so I'm curious to get these on a launch monitor and try some other shafts as well.

Amazing how many people judge clubs on what color they are or the looks of the parts of the club that have nothing to do with performance. Not to mention, ripping a club that they have never hit. Funny.

Not judging at all. I don't care whether the Epic Pro voted Dem or Rep and it's not place to question why Epic Pro keeps an apartment downtown, while Mrs. Epic Pro and the kids live out in the burbs.

But one thing I will say - is based on the pics - those are awful looking irons. Cannot think of a 2016/2017 iron that looks worse.

Completely normal actually. How a club looks ( topline, colors, offset) have a great effect on some people. Performance is King but if you don't like that look it can be a major issue.

At address, they look really nice. They seem headed back toward the topline and sole width of the X Hot Pro, which is still the best, non-forged player's iron they've ever made. The cavity is okay. The price is outrageous.

This is immediately what I thought I when I saw the comparison photos. I just bought the Ping i200's to replace my X-Hot Pros. Damn it...I should have waited!

I think it's weird there are no reviews yet.

preorder doesn't start until June 2...

The fact that Easyyy has done a mini one is awesome for us.

Thanks all.

These are a really cool launch for me. For year I used to talk about a set of irons that were juiced for speed/trajectory in the long irons but had control and feel in the shorter clubs all in a player package. These seem to have that. Add the high $$$ price point for exclusivity and you have the new Epic Pro.

Hard for me to get excited about irons now days. I mostly get that was when I see quality or craftsmanship lately. But these have me excited for different reasons.

I saw a reference to the shape to the X Hot Pro. That is a good comparison. I think the Epic Pro has a more compact heel to toe and thinner topline. But the general shape seems to remind me. The Epic feels like a dream boat in comparison to the Xhot pro however.

These Epic Pros have an odd combination I have not seen before. PXG and TMB got close... but I think the numbers will show that these Epic Pros will do a better lap time. Meaning hotter and higher in long irons and solid feel and control on the shorter clubs. The heat I experienced on the 4 and 5 iron let me throttle down and stay in more control.

Excited for sure. Honeymoon has been great!

That's really good news because I loved my X-Hot Pros and STILL have my set. Got knocked out by Apex. Can't wait to give these a go. To your point, sounds like a wonderful marrying of technology and playability. The perfect "tweener" club between a blade and GI.

That dude is just a beast, love watching his reviews, although he gets a bit excited....

little breakdown....

Nice look into the technology. Looks like if you were to remove the carbon badging, you'd expose the exo frame cavity holes. Its too bad the badging isn't purely cosmetic, these would look SO much better without it...

Stupid. It's an iron folks. It goes how far irons with the same loft go. And it looks ridiculous. And its price is ridiculous. If it feels and looks good to you and you don't mind paying the price, play it. But if you honestly believe its going to do anything different than other irons, then just go ahead and trade in your PXGs, or your C16s, or whatever, and have at it.

Oh looky there:

Same guy demo-ing the P750, which is 3 degrees lower lofted and a quarter inch shorter and hitting it just about 1 club less. Interesting that he was about to scorch his shorts over the results with the Epic 7 iron, which is essentially just a P750 6 iron.

I'm as much of a club ho as anybody, but just admit it: all you're buying is newness and looks. This has the newness, it does not have the looks. It's all good if you want it, but I'm sick of hearing about tech and improvements etc. etc. etc.

You know. The more I look at them, the less there looks bother me. I think it comes down to the green and the carbon. If the carbon was the same look as the body with the brushed finish it would flow better.

yah the same guy is hitting the tour M1 7iron 220 yards so I think its mainly he is just a power hitter. That said I was going to order a second set of Apex irons to leave at my club as I want to leave one at home (where I practice) I called my fitter and he simply added $500 to my bill to upgrade to the Epic irons since my Apex were going to take 2 weeks anyway..

I still get enjoyment from the "it only goes further because the lofts are stronger " comments. In this instance the '6 iron lofted' 7 iron epic had a max height that was 10m higher than the p750 7 iron.

Sorry Callaway, I for one will not be buying these Epic irons because they go too high...

The pic you have of them all in the bag look better than expected to me. The green doesn't stand out, and they look a lot cleaner than I thought they would from the original pics I've seen. Thanks for sharing --

I would write a more than appealing review of these as well if callaway gave me a free set. Of course they'd be on eBay shortly after...

But at $2k, I wouldn't be even a little bit interested. The looks alone scream GI and they're just too gaudy imo. Revamped BB Fusion irons comes to mind.
