Well well. Looks like I might be moving to a ping g400 fairway wood in the future, possibly driver as well depending on if it can unseat my current monster.

I loved that I could compare the G20 and the G30 irons and see the offset etc and see the specific specs. Or pulling up the "classic" items.

I've seen the few shaft options but I haven't seen it mentioned if the regular Ping Tour shafts will be an option on these? If I buy one of these I'd definitely want the tour shaft in it.

Anyone know much about the X Torsion shaft? No info on Aldila's site, yet... Or its just down at the moment?

 

It's amazingly stable, smooth for an incredibly tight shaft, mid launching and pretty low spinning, and feels like a top-quality shaft.

I was told 75 retail for any of the shafts. Xtortion, HZRDS yellow and the other ones. Rep told me I should get the HZRDS. I play the rogue silver. So I may try the xtortion xflex

I would have expected them to have more options, but Ping may simply be dipping their toes into the shaft option waters instead of diving in. Either way, tough choice on which shaft to grab.

I do not have any official knowledge of this, but I'd almost expect these $75 retail upcharge shafts to be "made for" shafts. Similar to the HZDRUS that TaylorMade uses in their clubs. We'll basically know as soon as the first HZRDUS ships and of it has the "Handcrafted" logo on it or not (I'm saying it won't have that logo).

I know this is a redundant question but I haven't followed Ping in many years... anyone ever find out what the Tour shaft actually is? I remember years ago folks thought it was an ADDI but haven't followed since those mythical discussions

Stetson, I'll give you first refusal, I need something to burn all my pro shop credits on. I did the same when the G30 came out,pre ordered well before release, gambled and won with that driver, figured I'd do the same this year. I skipped on the G, the King kept me from looking at anything else last year.

from what I have read its very similar to the elements Chrome, its made by UST that much I do know. I have both tour 80 in my G30 and Chrome 70 in my King I don't think they are exactly the same the tour seems to feel a touch stiffer.

If it's not the real deal, they usually label it under a Ping shaft.

There also isn't a iBlade 2 iron unless you are a tour player...then there is one. In the past you could get a 2 iron for past irons like S55s but the cost was double the regular set price. Looks like they are not making those exceptions anymore.. May be a i200 2 iron as well but haven't seen one yet..

Well, I'm almost positive that the Aldila X Torsion PING is using is made specifically for them. They are listed in R and S flex only, and denoted as a "50" for the R and "60" for the S flex. So I'm assuming those numbers refer to the weight of the shafts. Doesn't sound anything like the X Torsions used on tour.
