Europe was over matched this year and injuries / illnesses just made it worse for them. As happy as I am the US team is winning, we all need to be realistic that neither team could keep up with a team from Asia.

Why does every conversation under the LPGA thread lead to; if it was Asia or South Korea... This competition is USA vs Europe. Just enjoy it for what it is. Does every NFL game need the Patriots. Can I enjoy the Premier league even though they aren't playing Real Madrid? It's a biennial competition between Europe and USA.

Without a doubt, Reid vs. Kerr will be fun to watch tomorrow. Should be a lot of fire there on both sides. No choice but to front-load it for Team Europe.

Still can't believe the Lang/Lincicome vs Reid/Ciganda was a combined -22. That is insane. Reid/Ciganda were -10 and lost by 2

This event was a lot of fun to watch today. Between this, the US Am, and the Tour event - it's a good weekend for sitting on the couch and watching golf on tv. It'll be interesting to see if Team Europe can build up some steam early tomorrow

not sure anyone is being over the top with their celebrations - both players AND fans. i mean this isn't a "real" event, and god forbid people have a fun exciting time while attending a golf event. can't have that, you might actually draw more fans and grow the game a bit especially with the youth. i know my 12 year old daughter has never had much desire to golf, but after friday, her and i went out today for 9 holes - at her request.

forest through the trees at some point. why can't the atmosphere be different at these exhibitions? pretty sure the higher ups look at this as an opportunity to get people excited about their sport?

Judy Rankin said it best: It's one thing to lose, it's another thing to get smoked. The Euro team just can't keep up.

 

But the Euro team deserves a lot of credit because these are competitive matches. It's not like every match is 5 & 4 or 6 & 5. Most are going to 17 or 18.

 

I also look at it like every break is going the US's way, how many blind fairway or bunker shots are people going to hole out? Not many. And if the Euros get the breaks, rolls bounces the US got today tomorrow could be very different. NOT saying the US isn't playing great or deserve the lead. Just saying that in my eyes breaks tend to even out over a 3 competition and many have gone the US' way so far. But in golf you often make your own luck.

I still enjoy watching it but at one time the Solheim Cup represented the best in ladies professional golf, what we're watching this weekend doesn't.

Agree about all except about Thompson--is it nerves? Why would she be so nervous? US has a huge lead, in front of a home crowd, and she has been around this block a few times. Maybe her game is just off.

 

Paula rubs me the wrong way too, when she makes a putt. I just don't like the meanness on her face.
