Woohoo...all booked for the promised land. With the help of some awesome GolfWRX tips, was able to book tee times in advance at Pebble without staying on property.

Going to Scotland again on Monday with my wife and kids. Planning to play golf w my almost 9 year old son every day. Will be his first time overseas. Cannot wait.

If staying in Killarney, go out from town to eat at the Killeen House Hotel. From Lahinch, drive north to Liscannor to Vaughan's Anchor Inn. I liked the Nineteenth in Lahinch for a pint or 5 in the evening. Try the seafood chowder at each and every golf clubhouse after you play. Drink Guinness, please do not drink American light beer. Have a brilliant time!

The seafood chowder at The Atlantic Hotel in Lahinch is my favorite in all of Ireland and I’ve had countless bowls all over the country. Definitely worth trying it.

while living in houston and in my first time in scotland, we're driving back from prestwick to lower largo (home of Lundin Links) in later march ... stopped on the way in one of those small towns at the pub for a bite ... soup of the day? ... chile con carne ...

I would never eat chile in Ireland. In fact, I don't eat it anywhere east of the Sabine river or north of the Red River. Life is too short to eat bad chile.

Also next time your in town eat at Food for Thought. It's the best restaurant in Campbeltown and one of my favorites anywhere. The only reason we aren't there is we have eaten there almost every night this week and wanted to go somewhere different.

Thanks for the recommendation. We’re at 8:40 tomorrow morning off of Dunes. Haven’t played Dunverty. Thought about it today but it’ll we luckily escaped rain on all but two holes this AM and decided not to press our luck since it was raining while we were eating lunch.

Leaving this Friday for trip including Ballybunion Old Course and St. Andrews Jubilee. Also going to try the ballot for the Old Course.

 

Very excited to experience links golf again. I’ve played once before at The Island near Dublin, had a great time. Fun to experience golf in a whole new way.
