What golf trips do you have coming up?

Recommended Posts

I've managed to add in a short golf excursion. My wife and I are spending a long weekend in May in Asheville, NC with my family, and there won't be any golf played. However, on our way down from Northern Virginia, we're going to stop at the Homestead for a couple of night, and play golf for two days.

A month after that, I'll be off to Scotland for a week. Live is good

Just play the Cascades, don't waste your time on the "Old course".

Thanks for the advice. We're playing on the day we arrive, after a 3+ hour drive, so I think the Old Course will be fine that day. The next day, after a full nights sleep, we'll be at the Cascades. Any recommendations for dining, especially non-resort restaurants?

Nice that will be fine. You will enjoy the cascades. It is a great course and in great shape. My father will be there next week playing. I️ am not as familiar with the restaurants as we normally have rental and will go with two guys who are good cooks.

Sorry on that, I’m sure the resort restaurants are great. And I️ believe there are few good restaurants on the Main Street right there.

Next month, Portugal:

Quinta do Lago South

Oceanico Old Course

Monte Rei

Oceanico Faldo Course

Troia

Penha Longa

Praia D’El Rey

Oitavos Dunes

i'll be interested to hear about this trip. My wife is tired of Scotland, would like a golf trip someplace new AND warm. Portugal could fit the bill.

I'll report on it when we return. I've been to Scotland and Ireland many times and look forward to a new country. We are staying over after the golf trip for two weeks, mostly in the wine regions.

Just got back from a golf trip to Savannah with some friends. Played for three days at The Landings on Skidaway Island. We played Magnolia, Plantation and Deer Creek- some of the most beautiful courses I have ever seen. Deer Creek recently hosted the Web.com Savannah Golf Championship so the course was a real test- especially the greens. Great trip, great golf and some great food.

I'm planning a trip to Myrtle Beach in May. Heading down Victoria Day weekend for five days before driving up to Kentucky to see my mom over Memorial Day. I haven't booked any rounds yet, but I have a hotel at Barefoot and I'm planning to stay toward the north end of the Strand (I did Pawley's last spring). And I have a raincheck from World Tour after getting washed out there last year.

Just booked a work trip to San Francisco and have Friday May 11 - Sunday May 13 open for golf.

Trying to figure out whether to do Pasatiempo, Pacific Grove and maybe Bayonet

or whether I stay in San Fran and do TPC Harding Park, Sharp Park and Gleneagles at McLearn Park or Presidio GC and this allows me to explore more of the city.

Pretty exciting summer coming up for me. Sand Valley in May, Arcadia Bluffs/Forest Dunes first week of June, Pebble Beach mid June, Bethpage (if I get a tee time) July, Wolf Creek/Sand Hollow October. Went to Streamsong a couple weeks ago.

Last year was pretty solid with Whistling Straits, Kiawah, Erin Hills as the main attractions, but I think this summer/year might top it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Scottsdale/Phoenix Bachelor Party Memorial Weekend

Lots of golf and lots of gambling

So far we have Ak Chin Southern Dunes on the list, if anyone wants to chime in with some recommendations I’m all ears

Preferably budget friendly (Me and the groom love to golf and price isn’t an issue, but some of the other guys don’t golf very often/have the funds)

I'll drive out of town the Thursday before memorial Day for 4 days, and 6 or 7 rounds. I haven't booked anything yet, but I'm leaning towards southern Indiana (Otter Creek, Chariot Run, Cambridge, Sultans Run, and Christmas Lake). We've had a miserable spring in the Midwest, and I'm thinking the further south I get the better.

nothing booked yet, as the new place in Palm Dessert was just closed on a few weeks ago (Mom's place). We will probably do 2 trips a year, November, and February. I can't wait, never even been to CA.
