I had heard or read that somewhere but that seems silly and a little hard to understand. If Nike had a special ball then why wouldn’t they want their entire stable of Players to use it?

The ball was much softer and spun more. Tigers own recipe. Player I know who wanted it also preferred a softer higher spin ball. But had to play the rocks Nike had out for everyone else. They found this out by having someone swipe some balls off the range after tiger warmed up. Tested with them and loved them. And Nike said no. Lol. I’m betting it was a supply deal. They didn’t have enough to pass around. . Wouldn’t shock me that PR wanted to play it too since he loves b stone.
