• History: This is the 7th year for the event. It became a major in 1983. In 2017, Cristie Kerr rebounded from a 5-shot deficit to defeat Lydia Ko, In Gee Chun and Su-Yeon Jang by 3-shots to secure her 19th career victory. Kerr’s four-day total of 20-under 268 broke the tournament record.

This is a Wednesday through Saturday event, so double check your DVR settings. Four hours of prime time coverage in the mainland U.S. is about as good as it gets for a non-major. Temperatures should be pleasant in the low 80's. There will be a chance for passing showers Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

 

I know I'm going to jinx her, but my pick this week is In Gee. She's finished 2T the past 2 years, and is overdue for a win. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lydia and Inbee in the hunt.

Tiff Joh, Hee Young Park & Nomura are paired together....you have been a prior standard bearer for TJ & HYP....so are you going to request their group?

 

Some Wed/Thurs pairings seem odd....a lower ranked pro grouped with 2 premier ranked pros.

Was So Yeon Ryu given the shaft being paired with Angela Stanford and Kris Tamulis....Rolex rankings.....5...then 64 and 150?...one would think she'd be paired with RR pros no higher than 30....maybe 40???

Unfortunately they tee off in the PM wave, and I’m doing the morning. Thursday I am not working as I have a prior engagement. I’ll have to hope that HYP makes the cut and I’ll request her group on Friday.

Gulbis is behind Karen Stupples on the priority list, which means Stupples must have resisted the urge to get out of the booth to try to get a piece of Sung Hyun Park.

Most of the top players are playing ~20 - 23 events a season, so a handful have to be left off the schedule. Last season she played the ANA, and then didn't tee it up again until the VoA Texas Shootout in late April. This event kicks of a string of 4 consecutive tournaments, so perhaps she's planning to play the next three.

Lexi's not playing this week because she's currently filming episode 2 of Shotmakers.

I'll never get back the 90 minutes of my life back last night....it was a train wreck and I couldn't stop watching.

Did you guys see the 4 iron 75 yard hosel rocket from one of the male contestants...man it was "pure"...I wonder if he hit a blade or a GI iron?

Played that course 2 years in a row.

Not too difficult but not a pushover either, esp on the greens and depending on the wind.

A good resort course.

I'll be watching while kicking myself at the same time. My family and I were there in November. My wife told me to rent clubs and play but I didn't wanna spend the $175 plus rental club fee.

Lots of players I'd love to win here, but I'm spending this tournament's worth of golf prayers for Su Oh to have a good, successful, fun outing. Also want Mina to do well. Hope for both of them to get some needed good stats stuff here.

She did go yesterday and was foolish enough to bury her car key in the sand. When she got done she couldn’t remember where she buried it. She had to enlist the help of a local to locate a metal detector to find the key.
