7 wood?

High Draw

Recommended Posts

He knows it’s not logical or even reasonable perhaps, but there is no damn way Jack Pearsall carries a 7 wood.

Have some self respect.

I was really struggling elevating a 5 wood, so I picked up the Cobra F9 5-6 wood and this this gets up and goes. Longest 5 fairway wood I have ever played, amazing. I just ordered the F9 7-8 wood to see what it will do. It had better be good to replace the XR 7 wood, but I bet it will. I think they put Viagra in the grip of these clubs??

I've been struggling with my hybrids for too long (19 and 22 degree 2017 M2's). Found a used Callaway Diablo 7d 21 degree in Golf Galaxy last week for $30. It's kicked both hybrids out of the bag. I now go driver, 4 wood, 7 wood, and just ordered a 25 degree 9 wood from Hireko to replace my 5 iron (also 2017 M2) since I don't get much height with it off the deck. I'm good with my 6 iron on down so I don't currently feel a need to replace them.

If you go with a pro or tour head with a square face angle, this can sometimes lessen likelihood of hooks. Also: Tour Edge equipment reps tout the new CBX hybrid as left-proof.

I used to hook every hybrid I tried.

Some of the guys on here suggested pro type hybrids.

I bought a Titleist 910 hybrid. 95 gram Diamana Kalia shaft.

This thing hits a nice high ( slight fade) shot.

Couldn't be happier.

I still have 2 Callaway heaven woods, but I overswing with them and get in trouble.

I played with a customer this week that only has 3 irons in his bag a sandwedge, pitching wedge and 8 iron to chip with. Everything else is a wood including a 21 wood which is 54*. It is kind of wild to see him hit a wood from 60 yards but he is probably a 10-12 handicap and is very good with them. It really hammered home the play what works thought and has me rethinking my bag a little. I am not playing a 21 wood but I might look into a 5 hybrid to replace my 4 iron. I saw a Michael Breed thing recently that said the same number hybrid would fill that gap and a 4h would go too far.

My current setup, PXG driver, Ping 3-7W, 5i

yes, I think so but he has started mixing in a 21 degree hybrid now an again.

> Anyone out there playing a 7 wood instead of a hybrid. I have tried several hybrids and don’t seem to get along with them. I’m a good long iron player, maybe I should just hit a actual 3 iron. Just curious if anyone else has compared a 7 wood to a comparable hybrid loft with higher swing speed. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I play both. They're both great from the fairway and tee and the hybrid fills the gap nicely between the 7 wood and 5 iron. I can't hit a 3 or 4 iron anymore, so they're the best solution for me...
