I'm glad they're being approved because I want to use Them in competition this year.

Nice! I'm having a tough time deciding between the TS3, 4, and IM-1. Tempted to maybe blend them, depending on lofts. They are all just beautiful, but also have their own "style". Of course the 3s will almost certainly be the most forgiving.

I think this question has been asked a couple of times in this thread but not answered—perhaps because nobody outside of GolfWorks has tested all of them. The question is how to rank the TS family in order of discernible playability.

Three of the five have their MPFs listed online. From highest to lowest:

TS3 (786)

TS2 (727)

TS1 (711)

Does this mean the TS3 will be easier to play than the TS2?

Can the question be answered based on MPFs within 100 points of each other?

Does the answer depend on the player? The swing? The course conditions?

Technically yes it should play easier. But you are splitting hairs. The big things these days is how friendly is the sole. Take a look at the sole of the TS4. It's flat. The TS3 has a generous rocker toe to sole. That will make it play markedly easier. The TS4 for the general hacker will eat turf all day long. Where the TS3 will get through fairly well.

So back to the TS2. That sole and the sole of the TS3 is os very similar.

Britt from Golfworks has said in the past that it’s tough to discern a club’s forgiveness if there is less than 100 points between them.
You need to look at the clubs other dimensions to see what would fit you best.
C dimension, Vertical center of gravity, etc.

Yes sole is super key. Here are some pics of the soles(n.b. the TS1-IM photo is obv bigger; shrunk to equal size would be better)

How do we know that the TS4 sole is flat from that photo?  The only difference I can pickup from that pic comparison is that the TS3 is slightly wider

I don't think you can really tell that much per se because of the lighting, but if you were to compare the OG TS1 sole with, say, the STi2 sole, you'd see a difference that is more than just width, although of course width does count for a lot wrt turf interaction. Ultimately I agree with DB Golf that the best thing to do is build out 2 or 3 clubs with the various heads and test them out. Worst case scenario you can always sell the one(s) you don't like on ebay and get at least half your money back. To me as a hobbyist it's worth the price of entry.

I cant find it now but I've seen some side by side photos of the 3 and 4. The 4 looked really flat. Reminded me of the MMB-17

I like the new stuff, it looks pretty slick. I've actually been swapping between some DBM's that I just built about a month ago and another set I play from another direct to consumer company. What I find interesting is that as a high spin player, I tend to back irons up, no matter the brand. But with the DBM's, I have been getting them to land then hop and stop a tad forward which I prefer, even with the wedges.

Maltby really is killing it with their designs. I added the KE4 Tour TC 4 wood with a Pro Launch Red and am probably going to add the driver as well.

It's looking and sounding like the the '4' will essentially be just like the '1', without the extra thin face.

That is what I think too.  TS3 target would be the TS2 player who wants a solid head.  And TS4 for TS1 player.

I play the TS2's and sometimes the original STi's.  I get more juice out of the hotter TS2 and I can use it, so I'm not as hyped about the TS3 as I once was.

I think the TS1-IM face will be hotter than the OG TS1s, as they're made of maraging steel as opposed to the forged carbon of the OGs. I think taylormade has also gone with maraging steel on their newest 790s.

Based on this photo that 4 is really flat. Not much rocker to that at all.

I'm still not seeing "flat", compared to the TS-3 right next to it.  Not sure what your eye is picking up there.

As long as it has more front to back radius and effective bounce than the MMB, it will be an improvement

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
