Ive never seen Castaway so I dont get most of the references.

You're the island elephant who sacrifices himself to save cityhanks by acting like a living bridge and throwing yourself into the lava pit so city can scramble to safety.

Everyone in the theater cried when it happened, including me.

Such a noble act!

Got it, I am the Noble Elephant.

i got ignored, it’s ok cause I fly under the radar.

Yes. It's totally fine.

A "confounding factor" is that I actually feel like I'm in the late stages of a swing change I started in October and I'm actually getting a little "fadey" with all my clubs and Iv'e been hitting fades with the hybrid.

But, I can work it both ways. I actually seem to be hitting it a little higher, but again, that's sort of hand-in-hand with the changes I'm making. I'm hitting everything with the face more neutral and maybe even with a little out-to-in path, which is new territory for me.

It's cool and all; it's just kind of unexpected sometimes. And since it's kind of new, I'm not good at committing at starting the shot far enough left.

Like, I'm shaping the shot I mean to shape, but I'm starting it at the pin.

Over the winter, I went back into a couple rounds where my "strong draw" came back and I've been diligent about integrating the fade path with the swing I've been working on since October. I really think it's going to pay dividends, but I need to get in some competitive rounds and get some money on the line or get some rounds going where I start chasing a number.

I really need to pay a lot more attention to my takeaway path as it directly affects my shot. I have had this problem the last couple months - esp at Woodmore - with not watching the path of my waggle/takeaway. Its one of those pieces of "rust" that needs to get shaken off every year.

I've been working on a bunch of indoor stuff this winter due to family and crap weather, but finally got to the range Monday. Mixed. Need to get in another session before the Vernal, or maybe just show up early and get a long warm up then. Hit some great shots and some off the planet stuff that would make SoloShot hate me.

I should go see an actual instructor more often, but for lack of that I've taken some advice from PQ and City. They're good players who've I've logged enough rounds with over the years to know my swing. Last time out, PQ was talking about how I was all body and no forearm rotation at all. And I was working on the drill City posted this winter with his head against the archway to focus on keeping that head still. For me, both of those things are working in tandem. If I keep my head back but don't use the forearms, I leave the clubface way open. I kind of noticed it indoors, but didn't realize how extreme it was until Monday when I hit a few gigantic push slices with an in-to-out path and way open face.

It seems promising though. Thus restarting the annual cycle of pre-season optimism that will inevitably lead to severe golf depression around June after seeing no results.

I tried posting about my HBD-approved CostCo lunch, but Instagram has been down. The horror. Italian Sausage with a pepsi. The sausage was good, but the bun left much to be desired, and the peppers tasted like they were out of frozen pre-cut bag. Soggy.

CostCo has it smart. I go in for a $3 lunch, walk out with another $300 of stuff. I was at the Pentagon City one and didn't see any golf stuff. Looked all over. Not sure if I missed a spot, or if they just don't care it. Beer there doesn't seem any cheaper than in the CoCo liquor stores, but wine is amazingly cheaper. There were a couple of bottles that sell for around $12 here that were under $7, which was amazing to me.

I know. Still haven’t been there. It’s a bit far from my house, so I’d have to really want liquor to go there. I’m down in the Pentagon or Crystal City area pretty regularly for work, so that one is right on the way home.

This may sound crazy, but MC store single malt scotch sale pricing was better than the DC Costco.

Unless you're getting a handle of Kirkland brand scotch (which is pretty good btw).

It figures. On the first day of 60+ degree afternoons, I will be carless.

Car has 15k miles on it and there's a software bug that drains the battery. What a wonderful thing.

Our 09 Volvo had a software bug that did that. If we went on vacation for 2 weeks we’d come back to a dead battery. Even AAA couldn’t jump it one time. Ended up being a bug with the satellite radio where it kept communicating no matter what. Got it fixed it years ago and never had a problem again.

It's definitely a hazard of modern cars. I'm fortunate to have a portable jump kit that bails me out but it's quite the hassle.

Just busting your chops Sully. I haven't been to the D.C. Costco either (even further from my house) but I love seeing the pics of the liquor section there. I'm jealous of their prices and sometimes their selection.

Yep, the MoCo stores are great for liquor. Less good for beer (but not bad), and apparently not good for cheap wine. Seemed like the wine prices were about $5/bottle less than MoCo, no matter if it was a $50 bottle or $12 bottle in MoCo. I bought a few bottles that were only $7 (like $6.80 or something...I'm not rounding down there). One MoCo sells for $12.50 but on sale now for $10. One that MoCo sells for $17.50 and is on sale for $15 now. That's nuts. But more expensive stuff like Veuve Clicquot was still about the same price (~$45-50). I just peeked at Total Wine and their wine prices are pretty comparable to CostCo, so it's more that MoCo is expensive than CostCo is abnormally cheap.

Always found good value with the MoCo Malbecs with the Beer n Wine only stores.

There's a couple directly on my path home, so the convenience factor is strong.

However, if Costco starts stocking Educated Guess Cabs, I will be purchasing by the case

The convenience is great. CostCo is 25 minutes away with no traffic. The 10 minute walk from metro to my house has at least 5 beer and wine stores, a few more if you take a slightly out of the way route.

But they all take your money. Beer isn’t too overpriced on its own at MoCo stores, but the little places get you on the 6 packs instead of cases. Case of Dogfish 60 IPA is $30 at Costco. 6 pack at any of those small stores is $10 to $12, so $40 to $48 for a case. I don’t even want to attempt to add that up fully, but it amounts to several hundred dollars a year extra for exactly the same product.

How am I supposed to bribe my son in to UMD when I’m spending all that cash on 6 packs?

Being low carb minded I’ve tossed 4,319,864 Costco sausage buns in the trash, so I can’t speak to it. The sausage is great for 3 bucks though. Kudos to you Sully. Too bad IG is out of commission.

Speaking of Costco and low-carb, I found out about this stuff via YouTube. The flavors are really good and it seems like a decent energy boost. It's got the right amount of electrolytes for summer golf and the individual packs are smaller than your average divot tool.

Not crazy at all. MD has the lowest liquor tax in the country and IIRC VA is the highest, thats why I always stock up on liquor during the MC sales.

There is a great store maybe a mile or two from Northwest. Two years ago they had Balvenie 12 on sale for $39, at the time it was $58 in Virginia. I needed a cart to get out of the store. I think right now their normal price is ~ $55 - VA is $69. But if I pay attention to the sales I can save $20 a bottle, easily, by shopping in MC.
