New PING Putters For 2019?

To those who have seen the new Tyne H that appears to be in the new line, do you know it if has a headweight of 370g like the Sigma G Tyne H? I am very much hoping that it will be lighter.

No "grip portion" to it. Not like the old adjustable line with the steel ball part that would allow you to pull the whole grip sleeve area off or spin it around on the shaft. The way this one works the grip stays square and you can put any grip you want on it. The adjustment only goes to 36 and then stops. The old system you could pull the whole grip end off.

 

Does this new system add any weight to the butt end of the club? Slight counter-balancing effect?

 

Good question. PING being an engineering company that happens to make golf clubs I would think they figured out a way to have everything stay balanced. When I got to roll a few with the different models nothing felt out of place or oddly weighted. Not 100% sure that answers your question, I don't have a 100% answer though.

the anser (see what I did there?) is the old previous "clamp" style was more of a PITA in terms of weighting (the clamp itself actually weighs more overall than the new system, and the clamp placed the weight below/under your hands, not 100% desirable) than the new style "screw" system. in fact the new style is so perfectly placed/sized/positioned under the grip you'll never even know it was there. the underside of the shaft is marked with 32"-36" marking for an adjustment. and it will accept a regrip of any kind easily. this is the most elegant attempt at a length adjustment concept I have ever seen. and IMO may become standard on all PING putter releases going forward. edit: and FWIW a regular driver wrench can also be used to adjust the screw (each putter will come with this new disc lookin' wrench), but, I figured I'd try a driver wrench on the demo, and turns out it's all the same.

This sounds brilliant. Now if they can just get those hybrids adjustable... ;)

The adjustable shaft system is a great idea, but the shaft feels like a ladies flex graphite shaft. Distance control will be an issue I am afraid.

Not my cup of tea at all. Do not like the milling lines on the bottom of the club either, wtf? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, to each their own. Whatever helps one get the ball in the hole, that's all that matters.

Just by hitting putts with it. It’s the same as waggling any other club to see the flex in the shaft.
