2019 Jones Trouper Bag

The little loop that keeps the leg against the bag catches the leg every time I go to set the bag down and doesnt allow it to deploy. Its only that one leg so i guess the elastic is alittle loose.

 

Im cutting it off since I cant remember the last time I every actually used one.

Pull the other one a touch to even them out, they're probably connected if like sun mtn

 

I’ll try doing that again but I tried early while on the course and it didn’t have any effect.

By my measurement the top is 6.5 x 9. The bag is really cool, but I’m finding the top is still too small and the grips are binding.

 

I was going to return it, but it’s going to cost me $80 to ship it back. If anyone on the east coast wants a decent deal on it please let me know. It hasn’t even been outside.

 

There’s a clear plastic cover over the umbrella holder that looks like something should be put in there. Anyone know what that is?

That’s for an identity tag or business card holder.

 

Slide it down in from the top. Helpful at clubs that store bags for people that don’t have a bag tag.

I do like the bag, but I agree with what he said, it’s not as spacious as I had expected. The top opening is definitely better than my old classic stand bag, but the middle and bottom dimensions are not Very big. I still fight with it occasionally and I just use standard size grips. I think with oversized grips you’d have a real problem.

 

I Might have a junior staff bag in my near future if Hogan releases the one the have been teasing about on Instagram.

That looks awesome. So is the blue as dark as it appears in your photo? The photo CBNBAC posted looks more like royal blue. I really want the blue, but only if it is dark.

Going to be a tuff call on the shade. I think the material they use has a certain sheen to it, so the actual color is difficult to see in photos. It will look different in photos depending on background lighting and colors that are next to it.

I am contemplating on getting this the Jones Trouper Bag or the VICE Force Bag. Anyone have both bags to provide some insights? I have an Jones Classic Stand, but find the 7.75 to be a bit too small for me. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I reached out to them specifically about this about 2 weeks ago. They said they were in fact releasing other colors, something along the charcoal / gray we both are looking for. They said it would be for next spring/summer.

I also contacted them a couple weeks ago. They said no new colors for the next 3 months but there WOULD be something along the gray/tweed/charcoal color way. Maybe that coincides with a golf trade show ?

Great looking bag. And I am pleased to see the bag with clubs, as opposed to seeing the poor pictures on the Jones website. I would also ask if you experienced much club tangle?

Yes. It’s mildly ackward. You can reach it with your left hand once you get the hang of it though.

Really like the improvements in this bag. I would have already made the purchase if i did not have a Utility series bag with only 2 seasons under its belt. I just cant justify the purchase but this looks like it ticks all the boxes for Jones.

Finally got the bag out on the course over the weekend. I still love the simplicity and unbranded look of the bag. There was still some grip tangling, but no more than the Titleist bag I had before. I can see some issues with the grips tangling if people use midsize grips though.

 

Now I want to get some Seamus headcovers to finish the unique look of the bag

I got one and did not like the bag at all. I use a Jones Utility Stand, which I REALLY like. I was looking for some more space in a similar bag.

 

* Dont like the base with that external lever

* The stands keep getting stuck on a stupid rubber holder

* The finish is not even close to traditional Jones bags, everything is plastic with a china-made looks

* It twists when used to ride on carts

 

Sorry, really disapointed here .... I’ve been using Jones for a while and really like the brand, but this bag has nothing special.
