2019 Jones Trouper Bag

I got one and did not like the bag at all. I use a Jones Utility Stand, which I REALLY like. I was looking for some more space in a similar bag.

 

* Dont like the base with that external lever

* The stands keep getting stuck on a stupid rubber holder

* The finish is not even close to traditional Jones bags, everything is plastic with a china-made looks

* It twists when used to ride on carts

 

Sorry, really disapointed here .... I’ve been using Jones for a while and really like the brand, but this bag has nothing special.

Got my olive Trouper bag in last week, and finally got a chance to take pictures. Came from a Titleist 4-stand bag, and I love how unique and simple this bag is. Can't wait to take it out on the course.

How much swing weight did that lead tape add to your FW?

I like it so far. Very unique bag. I have noticed that the pockets are surprisingly tight, and its a bit harder to fit things in the bag compared to my previous Titleist bag. The top putter area is pretty neat too, and makes organizing the bag a bit easier.

 

But I plan on keeping it just because its a cool bag. I just have to start carrying less stuff lol

Worse than other brands with a lever like sun mountain? Or simply something that happens with all brands that have a stand mechanism.

 

I really like the dedicated putter well - hard to find that on stand bags. Debating getting one but worried about club tangle.

I like mine, very easy to carry and I haven’t noticed any club tangle. As other have noted, the legs get caught on the restraining cords at the bottom. Most brands put a Velcro strap to restrain the legs but this bag uses some kind of thin bungee cord. It’s really annoying because the bag will fall over when I try to put it down sometimes, as I can’t really tell if the leg has been caught on the cord until I put it down. Jones’ solution was to just cut the cords, which I did and it works beautifully now, just kind of sucks that one of the first things I had to do to a brand new bag was intentionally damage part of it to get it to function properly.

I've been lurking on this thread since it started. With the Black Friday sale I had to jump. I grabbed a Navy bag with a few extra goodies (If i'm gonna pay for shipping I might as well grab a few other things, right?)

 

Does anyone have any input on how this holds up in rain? The Utility was water resistant. The description for the Trouper doesn't mention anything about that. I'll give it a few passes with some Scotchguard, but I'm curious how fast the natural material gets soaked.

I just got the utility rover (no stand). It is fantastic and I’ve got this one on my Christmas list in navy.

 

Switched from Nike hybrid bag with 14-Way divider. Was really worried going from 14 to 2, but so far no major issues carrying full set. Yesterday my 5i got tucked into my hybrid head cover and I thought I lost it, but figured it out...

 

A little bummed I picked mine up two weeks ago before the sale, but I love the bag. Very high quality and I’m excited to expand my collection. Picking up any Jones bag is a no brainer!

Don't all bags with an oval shape at the top twist when on a cart? I have a Sun Mountain 2.5+ and it does so I don't fight it. Just put it in sideways so I can reach my towel and brush and I'm good to go.
