New Wishon driver?

From the tech info the face area is bigger than the Wishon 919 THI. Which I think already has a pretty big face area. I remember Tom mentioned couple of times that a well designed driver at around 400cc can perform just as good if not better than a 460cc driver. The only problem is that when clubs get to online video reviewers they could not fit the player in every aspect, but I am sure the 519 SHPR will perform just as well and maybe even better that what the big brands has to offer.

Nice to see sub 460 heads in the mix. My past all time favourites were the cleveland launcher 400 and the Callaway razor fit xtreme

If I understand correctly, the larger face area and shorter front to back was to move the center of gravity forward and slightly higher to reduce spin and lower trajectory some. It should create a real penetrating flight. Of course, shaft selection could impact this to some degree to find the correct fit for each golfer.

I played the 525GRT driver which, if memory serves me correctly also had a more forward CG. It had a very penetrating ball flight and good release.

I’m looking forward to putting one together and putting it in play. Hopefully before spring.

Excited about this driver. I always like how Tom (in bonded models) makes the longer hosels so they can easily be adjusted.

I sure hope WRX puts a story about this new driver on the front page. Tom has contributed much to this site over the years, and his products are as good as anything out there.

Very penetrating flight, yet true to loft. Exactly as the designer Wishon intended, smaller head; weight forward. More data coming after the snow leaves. I dont do indoor.

I have my 519SHPR built with Accra TZ6 shaft. It looks really good. I did an initial test before snow fell against a TS3 with Hzdurs Smoke. Wishon came on top with 250.5 carry, 286 total with ball speed of 149. Ts3 had 243.5 carry, 278 total and ball speed was 147.1. Had many 1.49 and 1.5 smash with the Wishon. Shows how good the face is at producing speed. As mention this was an initial test without getting warmed up and in cold weather with 10 shots of each club. I am looking to do a more in depth test once the temperature rises and after properly warmed up in 3 different days to see what the result would be.

Wishon 519 is handpicked to 10 degrees. TS3 is 9.5 at A1 setting, measured to be 10 degrees in the club gauge.

Wishon stuff seems great. I have never tried it. I know tom used to come on here all the time. I am not sure he does much anymore.

It's very different. The TS3 is very loud for me, when you hit it well it feels like the face is cracking and the ball is taking off. But when you look at the ball speed on the launch monitor it's about what I normally produce. The Wishon 519 has a much muted sound, like a driver with hot melt put in. The feel of the face is more like hitting off a composite driver, softer than the TS3. Personally I prefere a quiter driver and soft feel of the face, doesn't kill my ears. With the TS3 my complain was that my ears were hurting after 3 shots.
