Lead tape jobs ... let’s see what your gaming. Tell us what’s changed by adding the tape. Thanks in advance.

I cut it down to 45”. Added tape to get it back up to d3.

Leaded my irons and wedges to get swingweight up to D2 on the irons and D4 on the 50/54 and D6 for the 58. Added 3 gram tip weights and the rest using lead tape. I feel the club gets unbalanced feeling with too much weight in the tip. The 50 and 54 are the same length so I got both heads to weigh out at 299 grams.

It looks like they have a perfect lead tape slot right there in the cavity!

Head came stock with a 76gr proforce v2 shaft. When I put the tensei pro blue 60 in it dropped the swingweight considerably. Headweight was around 192gr with adapter. 6 grams of tape made it feel pretty good.

Apex CF 19 with Steelfiber fc90. Spec from Callaway is D0 and they were between D0 and D1. There’s about 7-8g of lead tape on each club to bring them to D4. My previous irons were D2.5 with a 105g shaft so these Apex with the 95g shaft felt a little light at D2, but D4 feels great.

I would do the yellow spot, but thats just me. If you cut the tape nice and clean to the shape of the little platform there it would look really subtle.

Why pay 2K when $12.00 gives the feel I desire? To me it’s about scoring and hitting the shot shapes I want. I don’t really care what they look like.

Plus another set of Miuras might put me in divorce court ;)

My favorite lead tape pic. First club is after reshaft, pre-swingweight check, second is after swingweight check. It was a lighter clubhead, found it had lead powder in the hosel from the factory when I pulled it.

Stu, occasionally, I find a club I don't need to add tape to. It's not common, but it does happen once in a while. LOL

I had 5/8 of an inch cut off a driver shaft. He suggested lead tape to keep the same swing weight. I bought some 1g per inch tape and just curious how much to add. TIA

It’s late and I’m not sure I can handle the math for the 5/8”, haha. The math you need is 3 swing weight points lost for every 1/2” and roughly 1.7 grams added to the head to go up 1 swing weight point.
