How long did it take for you to receive your bag? I ordered a 2.5+ last Saturday 2/29 and it still hasn’t shipped. I asked Dallasgolf and they said it’s being sent straight from Sun Mountain.

It shipped direct from Sun Mtn which is in MT. IIRC it took 3 days back around Christmas, which was much faster than I expected. I don't recall getting tracking info from DG, but I have a FedEx account which showed it as 'incoming' 1 business day after ordering I believe.

You are correct. I just checked after getting home. It looks like you can shove the butt end of a shaft down there that could tangle behind another divider.

not sure yet how bad. Still haven't loaded it up. If it is bad, I'll send back to TGW and go with a 2.5+. I just heart these straps.

You can use DG's customer help chat, just give them your order number and they can get you tracking info.

Just a quick update on the 2.5+, since I walked a full 18 yesterday with 14 clubs, more balls than I needed and being out of golf shape.Pros:

The stand mechanism on the bag is second to none. No complaints whatsoever, I never even had to think about it. Overall weight is very good. I was only feeling the burn on the extreme hilly parts of the course, otherwise I felt quite good on the back 9.Club tangle was nonexistent, the only issue I dealt with was the putter sitting down too much in the top compartment. My 2019 closeout model doesn't have the velcro patch for the glove, which I fixed myself with a 2" piece of velcro tape. Quick access for tees was nice and kept jabby things out of my pocketThe X-Strap works nicely as a single strap when you're on a short walk, transfer, or just moving the bag around the green. Cons:

I tried a couple of different methods to get the X-Strap balanced out and I still don't feel 100% happy with it. You have to be delicate with the zippers. They're thinner than most and the pulls are just paracord with heat shrink tubing around them. I had one of the ball pocket zippers come undone at the bottom and it took a little fiddling to hook it back up. I'd prefer a rigid towel loop, I just hope the soft loop is sturdy enough to hang my rangefinder and towel on.

You need to spray that bag with the scotchguard protector spray from 3M. Will make so much easier to keep that bag presentable.

For those who went from a regular carry to an ultralight how big of a difference did it make? I have a 2018 hoofer that I like, but I have lower back issues. I have a pushcart but the ground where I live can be fairly soggy making it not so effective. Was considering investing in an ultralight but wanted to make sure the loss of a few pounds is worth the price.

I’ve had the same dilemma at times. Maybe give a lighter set up with your Hoofer to test, meaning, pull the clubs you never use, fewer balls , no water, no clothes in bag, or excess anything so that it will replicate a new, light bag because we all can add too much weight , 16oz of water, three clubs you never use in a round, extra balls and clothes into our new cool “lightest bag ever “ and make it a five pounder+ quick. All that said, when I went Sun Mountain 2.5 and kept it Uber light, yes, it saved my back, legs and gave me more energy for my finishing holes.

So, think of it this way. My SM 4.5 loaded out with 14 clubs and essentials weighed 21.5lbs. The bag has a huge top, a pocket for everything, and my favorite straps on a golf bag. My 2.5+ with 13 clubs (I usually use 13) WITH 16 ounces of water is at 18.5, probably 18.7 ish including a rangefinder.

3 pounds doesn't sound like much but that is about 15% weight savings, carried over the course of 4 hours up and down hills. I think it's absolutely worth it, but IMO you should not be paying MSRP for any of the bags in this thread. Deals can be had all around.

It's a huge difference in my opinion, especially if going more than 18 in a day. My 2.5+ loaded with the exact same stuff as a Hoofer or 4.5 (or similar 'heavier' carry bag) feels and carries like a feather in comparison. So much more pep in my step on the back 9, and I'm fairly fit (run 4 or more days per week).

Definitely another vote for the Mizuno 6-way stand bag. Fresh, lightweight, full dividers and very comfortable walking. I carry exclusively and this bag is perfect. Great insulated drink pocket and magnetic rangefinder pocket (like in the Vessel bags), all for $240

got the bag loaded up.

feels great in the garage. Sits great on the shoulders and back. The straps are awesome. The only complaint i have is the bottom compartment of the bag is smaller but i only have 3 clubs there so it doesn't seem like a big deal yet.

hard to believe how much lighter it feels than my Titleist Players 4

Looks great! I spent about 30 minutes at my PGASS last night looking at the SM 2.5+, Ping Craz-E lite and Titleist Carbon 4 but all had shortcomings and so didn't buy any of them. Thinking the Mizuno may be the ticket but have two questions. First, is the valuables pocket lined and second, do you think a standard rangefinder will fit in the water bottle pocket? I am hoping for a bag where the rangefinder is easy to access but also reasonable secure when in the pocket so it doesn't fall out accidentally.

Thanks!

The valuables pocket is not lined. That may be my biggest complaint. The water bottle pocket is large. I have my Bushnell in the case in that pocket. Plenty big.

I really liked the material (will post a pic below, looks more muted/classy in person) liked the fact that it has a separate extra pocket that I can use for rangefinder, did not have lined valuables pocket which was disappointing (sadly, seems the Mizuno does not either). Straps were interesting, not particularly padded and maybe somewhat stiff initially but assume they would sort of mold to you over time. All in all its probably the one I was most drawn to but something kept me from pulling the trigger. Wanted to love the Carbon 4 but just wasn't the one. Think I would go Players 4 Dry if I had to pick a Titleist. The SM 2.5+ had all the features bur was just a bit blah and the straps were the worst of the three.

Added a Craz-E over the weekend, our club just got them in and I liked the grey blue color combo. Walked 18 yesterday, and it was very good. Very little club tangle and the straps worked well. They are not as padded as my K1-LO, but wider so about even. No shoulder fatigue. The Velcro patch for the glove is minuscule, not as good as the Mizuno. I do like that there is a small pocket above the ball pocket for tees, markers, Advil, etc. Will post pics later today.

So head to head vs. K1-Lo, which do you prefer?

I got a 2018 4.5 from DG last year, think I paid $129 shipped. Great price and I love the no logo versions they offer on some of the SM bags.

I've been a 3.5 player for most of the last 10 years and find the 4.5 a little too much to carry on a consistent basis, with straps and rain hood it comes in at 5.2 lb (empty). 4.5 has the best straps of any bag I've ever had, but walked a really hilly course with it and was close to dead at the end, and I've got a good level of fitness. Ordered a 2.5+ which is on the way.

Finally took some time to take a few pics of the Ping cle bag. Walked 2 18 hole rounds with it so far, and I like the bag a lot, maybe a bit more than my Mizuno KI-LO. I prefer the Ping fabric, and the balance with the shoulder straps. Tried to take a few pics of the way the clubs sit in the bag as well, haven’t had any issues with the tangle. I do prefer the color way of the Mizuno, it is the tour colored version. Also like the Velcro glove attachment of the k1-LO over the ping. However, the pocket layout of the Ping suits my needs better. Also like the dedicated tee pocket above the ball pocket of the ping, and the overall quality feel. Let me know of any questions.
