Golf ball deals

I got a buy 3 get one deal from my club for Chrome Soft.  Only running for a couple weeks but was surprised to get it.

Have a look at the used market... There were deals a few months ago on prior gen balls... I would imagine they have all been snapped up in the current golf craze

Got email today from Srixon, they have ZStar and XV limited season opener 24-packs for $65. Not bad, haven’t found anything that stacks yet but assuming retailers will have these soon.

Same email and one from Golfballs . com, just saw the commercial to on GC while I was typing. At least that means they must be in stock, ready to ship.

I've managed to snag good/pretty good deals on Srixons the last couple of years. Got 3-Dozen Q-Star Tours for $90 last year. 3-Dozen Z-Star XV's this year for $120.

 

But, the covers on the Z-Star XV's are proving to be a bit of an issue. Definitely not as durable as the Q-Stars .

 

Next year, unless something spectacular happens, I'm going to try the standard Z-Stars. 

 

I do like Srixon balls overall, however. Never had any complaints about on course performance.

 

Plus, easy to tell which ball is yours. No one ever wants to claim a Srixon.

DSG and Golf Galaxy have Maxfli Tour and Tour X for $104.98 for 4 dozen right now. I don't need them, but I love these balls so I'm grabbing some more X's.

Pretty much all premium balls are 4 for 3 at GolfTown now, with the exception of Titleist. I believe the promo runs until April 27th.

Wow I’m surprised to hear the XV have durability issues now. I’m still working through the old 6 packs they sold for $10 a few years ago. These are the most durable balls I’ve ever played bar none. It takes a few rounds before my wedges can carve one of these balls up.

Don't ever play in front of me and lose a ball.  I'll claim them every time!  Oops that would be stealing?

Yeah, I think they're pretty dang durable, seam issue nonwithstanding. If you can get over a duller ball after a few holes and the seam looking... frankly, not that good, they're great. They do not scuff easily at all.

Haha I'm a double whammy of Srixon and a yellow ball so definitely easier to find the ball

Yeah man, I've been surprised too - and don't necessarily quote me on it - it's just one guy's opinion based on off-season play. I'm committed to using what I've got, so we will see how the durability issue works out over time and in some more favorable conditions.

 

Besides that, I haven't had any other complaints so far. They work fine.
