I love the Maxfli Tour X balls. Just bought the 48 ball pack to restock.

Yep -- that is what I did as well.  $106 for 48 tour level urethane balls is pretty great.

I just long for the days for the BOGO Srixon Z-stars at $40 (for 24 balls).  But with Srixon moving up in profile (and marketing expense - thanks a lot Brooks), I doubt we will see $20 a doz ever again.

Hearing rumors that they won’t be running their annual buy 3 get 4 spring deal.

Unless that's a supply chain thing, I can't imagine why they wouldn't do that. Gotta be a pretty solid moneymaker. I know I take the deal every year even though I always have more than enough balls.

I don't think they need to this year.. People are going to buy regardless..

You could say that any year, but they've always done the promotion

Were in a massive golf boom right now... My local pro told me he didnt think they would do the promo  either... As of now its all hearsay anyhow as no one knows what they are going to do.... I stocked up on some bridegstone balls before xmas as they were 35% off... Picked up 4 dozen.. Comparable to the pro v deals from  years past and I have been wanting to try out that bridgestone ball...

I still have a few dozen pro v left over from last years deal anyhow... I just wish bridgestone would make a yellow tiger ball

Where were bridgestone 35% off and is it still running?

they've already said they arent doing it this year. Theres no reason to when they sell out without a deal.

Where did they say that? Of course they don't have any problem moving balls, but it's great marketing that, again, is called "Loyalty Rewarded." I bet they'll hear from disappointed retailers and courses.

They would also see loyal customers trying the competition.  Some of them would make a permanent switch to a less expensive ball that might fit their game the same or better.  Those customers won't come back.

I doubt loyal customers are going anywhere... I know so many people that will play nothing but Pro V...

They will suck it up and pay price the same way we are sucking up the cost of golf in general rising

So your theory is that there is a large percentage of Pro V1 users who ONLY play that ball because they can get them on sale once a year?

Seems a little ridiculous to me…

I didn't say anything like that at all.  Quite a reach on your part.

You literally said if they didn’t have a deal this year then some of their “loyal customers” would switch to another golf ball. That implies you believe those loyal customers are only playing the ball because they get it on sale.

People who buy Mercedes aren’t going to start switching to Honda just because MB doesn’t have their annual holiday sales event. Similarly, people who buy Pro V1s aren’t going to switch to Vice just because there isn’t a buy 3 get 1 free Titleist deal this year. If those loyal customers were so price sensitive they would have switched to a cheaper ball years ago.

Not at all.

For the life of me I can't see how you read that much into my post.

But with the cost of golf rising, that will make some players try harder to find deals wherever possible. If Titleist doesn't do the promotion, TaylorMade and Callaway would be smart to do it and put some extra promotional oomph behind it. Some golfers would bite. Maybe it wouldn't be a huge number but it would be more than zero. If I'm Titleist, I don't run that risk. But I guess that's just me.

Aren't they a super high spin ball.. Is this the ball that TXG did a video on?

MGS had them labeled as low launch and high spin, higher spin than most, a very unique offering. They also found a decent amount to have some sort of imperfection, not sure most of us would really notice though. Testing above seems different so ymmv.

That’s me. No deal I probably will just play something else.

Me too! Been playing pro Vs since they came out. I refuse to pay $50 for a dozen balls. I have been stocking up every year since they started the loyalty deal. I have bought a doz from time to time but if the deal goes away, so does my loyalty! I’ll be stocking up on the Mizuno RB tour X. It’s a great ball and I ain’t good enough for it to make that much difference in my game. I think they are actually a longer ball off the for me. The TP5 is also a fantastic ball and I bet Taylormade runs their promotion.
