who buys a 14 way bag anyway? honestly haven't seen a golfer who could play worth a lick owning one

I never said I could play 😆. I work at ups and walk 7-12 miles a day. I have no desire to walk when I golf so I am always in a cart. I want a hybrid 14 for the ease of use. Cart bags stand up for crap when fully loaded and I'd like to be able to take the bag to the range as well. Instead of pulling a bunch of clubs and walking from the cart to the range. And as another gentleman noted I want the 14 individual club slots. My current bag doesn't have them and its a pain in the a. To each there own. I could see the hate if you prefer to carry when golfing but thats not my boat.

hybrid 5 way > 14 way hybrid

having the clubs evenly spaced in each slot gives them room to swing against each other and causing more dings and noise. I hate to admit it but there was a brief period of time when I had a 14 way and iron headcovers, hard for me to admit but it was a very short time.

I've used a 5 way bag since and if you stand the bag upright, there are no tangle issues especially with a bag the size of the hybrid and you look cooler...

Just trying to help a fellow golfer, 14 way bags are like the New Balance dad shoes of golf

Can someone tell me what boxed-in dividers are? Manufacturers don't tend to list that as a detail but it seems to matter greatly to some people here. I really hate club tangle and my current Hoofer has a five-way top but only two dividers

Picture it this way, when you reach your hand into a 'boxed divider' there would be no way to pass your hand to another section of the bag.  That divider is completely 'boxed in'.  Many are available now, but a few years ago they weren't as prevalent.  Without this type of divider, the grip end of a club could find its way into another section (typically the 'horizontal' section above or below) which leads to tangling.  Sun Mountain, PING, and TaylorMade have good boxed dividers in their 4 way bags, although PING's don't go all the way to the base (not sure about TaylorMade).  Sun Mountain is the best as far as this particular feature is concerned.

Thanks! Exactly what I wanted to know. I like the SM bags a lot but they have the loudest graphics and would prefer  something of theirs in one color without neon accents. Any recommendations?

Maybe the Sun Mountain Collegiate?  Lots of different, quieter colors available and no logos...

in the new 2021 catalog I see no difference in staff / midsize bag - even same SKU - which looks for me that these types dont get a new version? as I am from Germany, Golf here is a bit different and you almost use never a cart (except old people). So the usual way is having an own push trolly and put your bag on. As a like much space in the bag I always tend to the midsize one but maybe somebody has a different thinking?

For winter I do have a Titleist sandbag lightweight.

Has anyone had any experience with the Players 4 Carbon?  It appears to be a generous bag with minimized weight.  Sort of a slimmed down competition to the Hoofer.  I will be interested in what the 2021 color options might look like.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but according to the link they look like this.

I think the Players 4 and Players 4 Plus is more in line with Hoofer.

The Players 4 Carbon is smaller than the StaDry.

Smaller opening. Less pockets. Thinner bag material. Maybe a better comparison would be the SunMountain 2.5. Minimalistic, lightweight stand/carry bag.

Yes, the carbon is closest to the Ping craze e lite and SM 2.5.  Players 4/stadry is closest to Hoofer lite and Players 4 Plus = regular Hoofer.

I will say this, on the 2020 bags the material on the Players 4 plus was way nicer than that of the Players 4. You can't really tell online or in the catalog but in person its very noticeable and for me, made the Plus the one to get even though it runs 1/2 a pound heavier than the standard Players 4  I just never pulled the trigger due to the stiff feeling straps (even though they supposedly break in).
