PXG One & Done

snagy2000

Recommended Posts

I got my PXG One and Done Armlock last week. My first armlock putter, so far so good. I added the JumboMax 17 flat side parallel to the face. 37 inches. Switched out the 4 x 10g weights for 4 x 20g weights. So far so good. My other putter is an Evnroll ER9. I'm going to go back to the Evnroll factory when it's safe to try out their new Midlock putters.

PXG made me buy the 20g weights separately and change out the weights myself. Kinda annoying added $40 to the cost, but I did sell the 10g weights back on ebay but still a lot of extra steps.

Well... just spent 30 minutes at PGA SS trying different putters to see. Then I headed over to PXG Scottsdale and Enid the others they had in the rack. Spent an hour trying the Bat Attack, Gunboat, and O&D. They don it have a Backpack on the rack. He said he cannot keep them. It’s ok, tried that one last time I was there.

As someone said here, the BA sounded to tingly and felt different. The Gunboat is the most stable for sure and it was my go to last year. Still love that putter. But... the O&D is just money!! I am glad I demo’d the double bend vs plumber’s neck. I would have never, ever thought I would like that neck. But as GetitDaily said, there is not much toe hang in the PN. The double bend just looked a little closed to me on three putters. I am a SBST putter and the plumbers neck was really working. The alignment is so good.

The O&D PN at 34” with the Sinkfit Pistol grip was AWESOME! They sold it to me on the spot. No waiting!!

Already practicing on my putting green in the backyard and it is just too good!! Appreciate everyone’s help in this thread. Can’t wait to play next weekend.

FYI, anyone looking for a O&D double bend, just PM Endy on here. Great dude.

This is a cool looking putter. Do guys that have it find they use the ball and the alignment lines to line up putts or do you find you focus on one over the other? Have never used the “two ball” putters but obviously they’ve been very popular. Always wonder if players find the circle helps or is mostly for looks. This putter combines alignments. Wondering what players find is the impact of that design is in play.

Wilson Staff Model CB 5-G w/DG s300 shafts

I've had this putter since they came out. The white circle definitely helps and the alignment aids make lining up both short and long putts so easy to line up. I myself really don't focus on either, just the whole putter in general.

When practicing with it everyday, I take my time and use the lines and the white circle for about half the time. Then I practice only using the white lines. The ball is in my peripheral kind of and it helps.

No rounds with it yet, in practice in the backyard is showing great promise. Love the plumbers neck! Money!

The best price they had was during black friday at $245 but I doubt it's coming back. $285 is pretty decent and if you upgrade to a SuperStoke is $25 extra.

Damnit! I bought early at what was supposed to be a great price...$385 or $395. I hate seeing these and the Blackjacks drop that much. Irks me to be an early adopter and then see them sell for less. Especially when all I hear is that they're selling like hot cakes.

Yep. They upcharge for the superstroke grip too. AND shipping is $30 but they put it on UPS GROUND. People.see the list price and don't realize you're adding another $85 once you factor in shipping, ss grip, and taxes. And at that you haven't bought a weight kit yet..

The PXG Lamkin Sink Fit Pistol  grip , that is no up charge, is REALLY good. First grip I have used in years that is not a SS. Feels great and fits the hands well.

Dude, the alignment aids that exist , without really being distracting, are just so good. It’s so stable puts a great roll on the ball. With over a year using a Gen2 Gunboat, the new face seems a touch better on the roll.

Putted and practiced with a TP5, Snell MTB-X, Prov1, and my gamer a Bridgestone B X. Used Spiders for years to include the X and a Cameron Studio Select lately. Now I will say it is an average of the above putters. Lol. Not clicky, not soft, just a milled solid feeling.

I kinda like when putter have an audible sound to them.  They help my feel and distance control.  I like that it isnt too soft.  Hate soft putter too.

It's a medium hard thud sound. It's a softer feel or slower ballspeed than the phantom x models but the phantoms have a higher pitched sound. The phantoms have a somewhat hollow feel whereas the o&d and blackjack have a solid thud.  I know I said both softer feel and solid thud....firmer feel but slower off the face, if that makes sense.

Firmer than spider tour and spider x by just a bit.

Hope so!!  I loved the look of the VEgas but hated the sound, dull feel.  I owned one when it came out and returned it after my second round.

Did you buy the weight kit and change the weights?  If so, I’m curious if you detected any audible changes in the sound, feel?

Think I’m gonna jump on one tomorrow.

I have the blackjack and I bought 2x5g weights. The sound and feel changes a tiny bit if you take weights out and leave the ports open. The sound and feel.doesnt change much just by putting heavier or lighter weights in.

Agree with him. I did that in my Gunboat and agree with the sound change.

Thanks guys.  I’ve found weights and grip can sometimes alter the sound and feel of a putter, so I’ll have options to dial one in.
