Are the Rogue fairways the best of the bunch?

I am currently messing around with a Mavrik SZ 3w, and though I like it, it doesn't have that special sauce for me. I was reading the in-depth WRX article on Xander's bag and the Callaway rep talked about how the camber and leading edge on the Rogue makes it different from the others they have released and that is pretty visible. I can't say I've hit them - definitely have hit EFSZ and Epic which I remember preferring to the Mavrik. Anybody still in love with their Rogue SZ?

I love my standard Rogue 4 wood.

I look at the newer Cally, TM, Ping and Titleist stuff, but nothing has made me change.

The Rogue just fits my eye and performs for me.

Agree, I have the standard Rogue and nothing can beat it out of the bag. There is something special about it. I also cannot find anything better than my Rogue driver. They are very under rated clubs in my opinion.

On CPO Rogue drivers, fairways, and hybrids seem to be the hardest to snag. Whether that's because they are that good and people have held on to them or because CPO is trying to clear out newer stuff I don't know.

I know you are talking about SZ models which I don't have experience with but I did have a rogue 4 wood. It performed well but had a warrantable issue. CPO chose to refund my purchase. I'm sure it would still be in my bag if nothing had happened. I got impatient trying to find a new one and bought an epic flash 5 wood turned down to 17* to replace it. I liked it better off the deck but rarely used that shot. Have a Mavrik 4 wood now that I like at least as much as the I did the rogue if not more.

Seems the mavrik fairways are also sticking in a lot of bags on tour. Whether that's because the new epics aren't dialed or because they like the mavriks better remains to be seen.

We're going on a Minimalist Adventure who knows were we'll end up:

"Full" 10-Club Bag currently looks like this:

Taylormade BRNR Mini Copper 13.5

Taylormade Sim Max 7w Mitsubishi Diamana F Limited 75S

Titleist 818H1 25* Fuji Atmos Black 9s

Vokey SM9 56.10S

I had the Rogue 3 wood in my bag for a whole season.  Issue for me was it routinely went as far as my driver off the tee and that's what I mainly use a 3 wood for.  For approaches into par 5's I use my 5 wood.

The Epic Flash 3 wood I've got now isn't as long and seems to launch a little higher.  I've got nothing bad to say about the Rogue.  Still have it, it's just in a backup bag.

In the Bag:

Driver: 10.5 Epic Speed Graphite Design AD-ITZ 60

Fairway Wood: 15 Epic Speed Graphite Design AD-ITZ 70

Fairway Wood: 19 Epic Flash Tensei Blue 75

Irons: Apex Pro '19 4-AW, Aerotech Steelfiber 95

Wedges: 54 MD4 and 58 '19 PM Grind

Grips: Tour Velvet Jumbo

Putter: Odyssey MXM 9 HT

Balls: Chrome soft Triple Track

Agreed. Still have the Rogue 3 wood in my bag and it probably is better off the tee than my driver. I love it off the deck too because I can hit a high fade where my hybrid I hit a high draw.

I prefer the Epic flash sub zero to the rogue fairway woods. Gamed the rogue, but for me the flash sz was just better across the board. I also prefer the front and back weight ports instead of just the front.

I went to the epic flash due to the adjustable hosel. That was the main reasoning

I picked up a nice new Tour issue SZ rogue 5w and am now looking for a 3W. Anybody try both the standard and SZ that can comment on differences? I remember having a GBB epic 5 wood that was absolutely nuclear but quite draw bias. Probably the best I’ve ever hit a fairway wood. I hit less than driver a lot. Gapping wise my 4 iron carries 220-225 ish so I’m expecting smooth swings with the 5w to carry about 240. I’d like the 3W to carry 260 and driver at 290.

For two seasons I bounced back and forth between Calla Alpha 815s and Tour Edge XRails. Alphas were a bit too robust, XRails were launching too high.

The riddle was solved when I stumbled across a slightly used Rogue. The Rogue 4W got me launching FWs smooth and solid. I could feel the jailbreak posts bing on solid shots, and the lighter shaft helped me with clubhead speed and better swing form.

I wanted to add a 7W, but none used to be had in R-flex. So, I noticed the head specs on the women's and men's models were same. I got a women's club and had my clubsmith reshaft in R.

If I choke down on each a half inch, I seem to find midface most of the time.

I confess I broke GolfWRX Law #1 - get fit! - but I got lucky!
