Ping G425

Haha, nope. Everyone in the industry is so backed up, even if they wanted to help you out there's likely no way they could. But they're not just gonna let you jump in front of the people who ordered before you. They fulfill orders as they come in and as they have the right materials to complete them. Maybe you get lucky and they get everything sooner than expected, but nothing you can do to influence that. Crossing your fingers and hoping you get very, very lucky is about all you can do. But I'd say it's more likely you get it after the 27th than before based on how backed up everyone is and how messed up timelines and logistics are.

Hoping someone might have some info. I ordered a Ping G425 LST driver March 11th. The expected arrival date is March 27th. Problem is I have a important tournament to play in on 23rd. Does anyone know a way to expedite orders.  I emailed ping and got a basic response.  Any info appreciated.

Dont know if it helps: Might not even be a good idea to use a brand new club in an important tournament 😉 Only exceptions might be players with a very strong honeymoon period with new clubs.

The answer is probably not. I ordered my G425 hybrid on February 11th and it's still not in, for what it's worth.  If you really need the club and can get a similar stock shaft than your best bet is to try and go buy something off the shelf.

Ping G425 2 Hybrid 17* - Ping Tour 85x

Greenwave I wasn't asking to jump in front of other people, I was asking if it was possible to pay more $$ to have a order expedited or if anyone knew who to contact concerning this. I didn't want a answer from a smart a**. Next time don't reply to any of my post.

I did not get even a hint of snark from greenwave's response.  It kind of is what it is right now.  Every golf manufacturer is being pressed, whether grips, shafts, heads, etc.  If you need something right away, you really need to go into a store and buy it off the rack.  If you want custom, it is going to take time.  And the reality is, I can't imagine Ping, nor Callaway, nor Srixon, nor whomever, is going to expedite an order by paying them more money.  The potentially 1,000 people ahead of you really want their clubs asap also.

I have a custom irons order in with Titleist from February, nothing crazy, but I am apparently looking at mid-April for delivery to me.  I don't need that set to play golf though, so I am fine waiting.

I'm honestly just trying to explain what's happening with every different OEM right now, I don't think it warranted this reply. I'd say that 16 days for a custom order right now is probably in like the 99th percentile for quick turnaround. There's instances of people waiting like 13 weeks for various things. Anything custom they're promising you in nearly 2 weeks I'd just take and run because that's a win. As others have said, you could go to a shop and see if they have something in, or close to your spec and get that and use it for the tournament and either sell it later or if you have like a Roger Dunn or something you could return it for the full store credit if you think you'll use that later.

At this point though, there's nothing they could even do. The 23rd is 4 days away and shipping would likely take that long with how backed up all the logistics companies are right now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ordered the driver (Max 12 degree) and two fairways (5w head/3w length, and 7w head/5w length) in late February and received all three clubs (on separate days) in late March. All outfitted with Tensei Orange regular flex shafts

The driver is good, with narrower dispersion and greater forgiveness than what I played before (and only a little better distance). The sound is terrible and my playing partners tell me if sounds like a Sasquatch (knowing I hate Nike golf clubs).

The fairways, particularly the 7 wood are the revelation. Very straight and forgiving and easy to get in the air. A great idea (from Stuart Cink in GD) to turn the 5W into a 3W and the 7W into a 5W by lowering the lofts (and opening the faces slightly).

I like them so much, I am thinking about getting the hybrid. Given I have the 7 wood already, which has a loft of around 20 degrees, I am wondering if the hybrid should be 22 or 26 degrees.

Thoughts?

The hybrid might be the winner in the whole line, at least for me. Perfect launch, flight and distance for its spot in the bag. To answer the question- depends on your first iron, but 20 degree 7 wood with a 22 degree hybrid lofted up a degree with an open face might work, especially with the 7 wood having a longer shaft and maybe having some extra distance due to that.

First iron is a 5 i200 with retro lofts (27?). Should I get the 22 or the 26?

The 7 wood is the 200 yd club, the 5 iron is the 170-175 yard club. Looking to fill the gap; to be used from fairways on par 5s and off the tee on long par 3s.

I had the Tensei Pro but it was just too stiff so went with the CB Alta Slate. The stock shaft in regular and it performing much better for me. But here’s a thought - the line has a 9 wood at 23.5 degrees stock. Either the 4 or 5 hybrid might need to be adjusted up or down.

That is a great idea....I will demo both a G425 9 wood vs the 22 and 26 degree hybrids.

Looking to fill the gap btwn my G425 7wood and i210  retro-spec'ed 5 iron.

Had my first range session with the 17 degree hybrid (tour 85 x-stuff) and boy am I not used to it. Super inconsistent contact and not getting it off the ground nearly as good as I was during fitting
