Is the radspeed driver that good?

I know that the drivers this year are all very good, but every review I read or watch of the radspeed, it performs great.  Any insight of on course performance would be great.  In particular with comparison to epic max ls or g425 lst.  Thanks in advance.

I haven't hit mine yet but the word is its VERY low spin. I also like that it's available in a shorter length for guys looking for that.

I've been playing it this year.  I'll echo the low spin comment.  I had been playing an F9 set at 9* with a Atmos TS Black 7X and going with a Radspeed with a Motore X F1 6X, I had to loft up to 10* to get things where I want them.  I'm considering going up to 10.5*.  Weights back on both setups.

The driver has been performing great though.  Definite increase in forgiveness vs the F9 for me.  Distance is comparable.

ok great.  that is a consensus as well for most is the low spin.  I have also read that the heads are beneficial for negative angles of attack.  any insight on that would be appreciated as well.

Over the F9 my Radspeed is definitely more forgiving. Over my SZ there is very little difference. Granted I am only 3 rounds in with my Radspeed and still tinkering with settings. On my SZ I was set standard (9*) in the Draw setting. On my Radspeed, Draw setting went more left for me but in the standard it was the same as the SZ with less spin. Last round I went to 10* standard and it was a improvement, but not much over my SZ. Both drivers have the weights in the back.  Mainly I bought my Radspeed because of the colors. Being a child of the 80's, I have a soft spot for lime green and black... Plus, what kid from the 80's didn't wear out a VHS of the movie RAD??? Haha.

I can say that the F9 was better than the F8 (forgiveness/accuracy/distance) using the same exact shaft.  

I would assume that RadSpeed is marginally better still.

 

It is likely that you will see a bigger difference (+ or -) based on getting into the 'right shaft' for you.

I have tried it myself and I have helped some of my members try it out. I will say, the spin numbers were very good in most cases. I am considering putting the Cobra tip on one of my shafts, either Ventus Black or Atmos Black TS, to give it a serious go since I have both of mine tipped. I don't see it being a bad option for myself and I hit up on the ball a good bit, and I've fit a few people who hit down on it and they still got good numbers. I'll compare it to my Callaway Max LS as soon as I get them both in play.

when i tested the tour versions of the radspeed and radspeed XB -- while the spin was down for the heads -- they felt meh. just mush when hit well. also - we noticed ballspeeds (for us) seemed to be a bit less than that of the epic speed max ls and the SIM2.

i had worse dispersion with the cobra as well - keep in mind i'm already a low spin player; i saw a few on the rad speed head that were unplayable due to too-low of spin.

RAD was quite the cinematic masterpiece

Played a speedzone for a year and loved it. the face cracked and cobra replaced it with a radspeed and 2 swings into it and I knew it was going up for sale. didn't feel as good as the speedzone.

I tested all the new drivers and Radspeed won out. Coming from a G400 Max I'm actually hitting more fairways. Distance is much better because of the launch and spin window I'm in now vs the previous gamer. Definitely recommend. It has a very unique feel to it to me as well. Has a much more muted "thwack" than what I'm used to with my Ping. YMMV.

I have a slight negative AOA with driver. Played F9 with weight forward for that reason. Came to love the muted feel off the face. Now playing Rad XB. Spin numbers and ball speed are still good and more forgiving than F9.

After my hiatus from golf I'm getting back into it and picked up the Radspeed driver and big tour fairway...just wondering what everyone has thought about the driver over the long term?

Was great until the face caved. Low spin like said so great if you need that not so great if you need help getting airborne.

Cheers - had an F9 and Speedzone before I gave it up and I thought both were really good. Hopefully this works out... I've taken a shot in the dark as I've not tested it. Thanks for the he feedback!
