Tee Height Rollback

Yes, but picture a 3/4" tee.  1/4" would be in the ground, leaving 1/2" clearance.  That would necessitate a shallower driver, with limited ability to achieve a positive angle of attack.  The really long drives are achieved by a positive angle of attack, and a strike just above the sweet spot which produces limited spin.  A 1/2" above the ground ball height would make the positive angle of attack and hitting just above the sweet spot extremely difficult.

While the answer to distance is to swing up on the ball with driver (gross oversimplification I know) if you read through an article or two that lists out the pro's "numbers," a good deal of them are still "flat" with their drivers.  Maybe that plays a role in teeing height?

The youtube guru's vids tell me high and slightly toe side is where the big money is made.

(Unfortunately for my game, incredibly low and toe side is where the wear spot is being made on my driver.  Suffice to say the results are "less then optimum.")

i get that but irrelevant how long the tee is if they don't have much of it above ground. My only comment was I've always been surprised at how low they tee it compared to me

The only players impacted significantly by a tee height restriction rule would be the women. They max driver distance by hitting up 4 - 5 degrees. Just like the rule which reduced driver length to 46". It didn't impact the men. Other than long drive, none of the current men used a driver over 46", but there were women who did and they were impacted.

The RBs have big guns, but rarely hit their intended targets. They have been known to frequently take out bystanders though.
