Ventus Black 6TX

Recommended Posts

I know the Ventus Black 6TX hasn't been out long and most are satisfied with the performance of the 6X/7X, but I'm curious to see if anyone on here has had the opportunity to try the shaft.

There is little to no info on the shaft other than someone here stating @Fujikura Golf made Phil a shaft that was essentially a Black 6X tipped 2 inches so that he could play a 47" driver. From the specs it appears to have and even stiffer handle compared to the 6x.

I am looking for something a little more stable to replace my Rogue White 70TX and I am debating whether the 6X will be enough for me or if I should give the 6TX a try first. I will be going longer for this build from 44.5" to 45.5-45.75".

Thoughts/reviews?

I play the Black 6x tipped 1” and have been considering giving the 6tx a try. The 6x feels really good to me, but I can still lose the occasional one left. It wasn’t an issue for me when I played 7x in the driver, also tipped 1”.

This is the first time in over a decade I’ve gone to something in the 60 gram class in the driver. I’m playing the 6x a bit longer than I’m used to but haven’t noticed a big jump in dispersion but I am hitting it a bit further.

That’s what has me intrigued about the 6tx. Getting the stability of the 7x at a longer length and lighter weight.

I've seen your posts and WITB a few times and noticed that you went back to the 6X.

@J13 shared his thoughts about the Black 6X/7X on his shaft shootout. He stated the 6X felt boardy compared to the 7X. I like boardy.

I like what I am hearing so far with the 6X, but like you said the 6TX could be 🔥.

I was seeing much dispersion difference between the 6 and the 7, which was always why I played heavier shafts in the driver. I’m about 1/2-1 club shorter into greens with the 6 (45 1/2”) vs the 7 (44 1/2”). Sometimes I’ll catch one and be even better off, but I don’t have to seem the big miss with the 6 that I was expecting.

Like I said above, I am able to turn the 6 over a bit more and sometimes over cook it.

As someone who has tamed the 6X since the very beginning, going on almost 2 years now, I have recently switch the the 6TX. I find I can be much more aggressive with my swing and the ball doesn’t overly spin left or right on me. I hit the longest drives of my life with the 6X but often times found I could lose it right or left depending on how I timed it. Not OB mind you, but not tight dispersion if I was just off that day. The TX feels tighter and is slightly heavier which has improved my center face contact according to GC Quad and I’ve decided to game it until something better comes along. For reference, I had the 6x tipped 5/8” and play the 6TX straight in. Club speed is 117-122 depending on the day. This shaft was made for me.

6tx is a little stiffer in the mid and feels a bit more stable IMO than the 6x.  Harder to turn over than the 6x so consider that.  I had the 7x in driver before I made the switch to the Tensei 1k.  If you like 70 gram shafts for driver like I do, then I would recommend the 7x tipped half to full inch over the 6tx.  For me it's tighter dispersion and feel from the heavier shaft that makes it more stable.

Hi Guys - the specs of the 6TX are now on our site for comparison: https://fujikuragolf.com/woods/ventus

It was made for Tour in 2020 originally, not specifically for Phil. Also, it's not just a 6X tipped 2" - you guys should know we engineer our shafts with more effort and care than that! 🙂

The 6TX sounds perfect, especially if it is harder to turn over. If it doesn't work out I will go heavier, but I'm looking to play driver a little longer and I'm afraid the extra weight will throw things off. I played driver at 45.5" years ago with several 78+ gram shafts and my swing felt sluggish.

I don't think I would have an issue with loading the 7X. I would however, like to try something from the sounds of it, super stable in the 60 gram weight range again.

If you guys could now get your engineers to develop a Red 8X, that would make my day. My 5 wood is begging for it.

Ventis Black 6TX tipped 1" on the way. I will be playing it at 45.75" or 45.5".

I am currently in an Aldila Rogue White 70TX tipped 1" playing at 44.5". These two will be going head to head on the course in a couple of weeks.

That’s a lot of tipping for this shaft. You must be swinging 130mph. Wow

it's going in a 5 wood.  i go 70g in my driver, 90g in my 3w, and now 100g in my 5w which gets changed in and out with a driving iron.  that has the ventus hb 10tx in it.

i'm probably swapping over to a 4w/7w setup next year though
