Bushnell Launch Pro Device with Foresight

Thanks. I didn’t know if high ball speeds prevented it from reading spin accurately

Not at all. It will accurately measure spin, just how it inflates carry for low spin/high launch driver shots is a known issue. Keep spin in the 2300+ range and it's very accurate IMHO.

Carry distance on low spin for driver and 3 wood is exaggerated on foresight vs reality on course.E382CCAD-8465-4C16-AD77-35900FCD243C.jpeg.33fa9b8d5de56613a626601c838bc901.jpeg

Great to see that. I really wish foresight would do something about it, it's really the only issue with the unit (although it's not super major if you are an informed user). I do remember my very first time getting on a GC2 as a new golfer at GolfSmith (RIP) and the employee telling me I was hitting 300 yard drives with 100mph CHS lol

I don't think the barometer reads accurately and/or they have an error in their elevation calculation.  They also apparently don't take temperature into calculation, which I believe is needed to calculate elevation since it doesn't use GPS.  I've been in touch with Foresight about this.

How far off is your barometer and elevation?

My barometer usually reads within a hundred feet of my elevation but the temp rises significantly as the machine is on longer.  It’ll start out in my 67° basement correct and will end a couple hour session at 105° or so.  I’ll start thinking I’m hitting it farther and check that it’s usually pretty high.  I now set it to 900’ and mid 70°s temp in FSX to make sure it doesn’t fluctuate the numbers.

Yeah, I'm hoping this can be fixed with a firmware update.  Otherwise I may as well turn off the barometer and change the settings in FSX2020.  Unfortunately it's not ideal for the range then?

Ok, I dot an email from Bushnell and all it said was to plug BLP into router(obviously using cat wire). That’s all it said. So, I plug my BLP into my router and checked it the next day and the barometer went from reading -347 to 45. I’d call that a drastic change. Also, seems to have made my yardage more accurate. I was constantly hookielau as fsx2020 likes to say. Today, pretty straight.

hope this helps you other with barometer issues.

Strange…seems to imply the barometer is based on something through the internet?  Not sure why it would matter between WiFi or Ethernet.  Were you connecting with usb or WiFi before?

edit:  it would be nice if we could manually set barometer and temp so we know the flight algorithm is pretty close.

It's not significantly worse than FSX unless you tell it to wait for club data. There's a new version of the interface coming out some time soon that won't involve FSX Pro at all but it will only support the GC3. Unfortunate for those of us with unlocked BLPs.

Just to make sure I’m following because I’m deciding between a GC3 and BLP, are you saying that GSPro will not be usable with BLP once they update it the interface?

It will still be usable using the existing interface but that requires running FSX Pro either on the computer that's also running GSPro or, with the newer versions of the existing interface, on another computer within the same local network.

True

and could also use Apple TV to screen mirror the iPad.

I had issues the time I tried to use screen mirror from my iPad using FSX Pro to my tv.  I assumed this function was disabled or perhaps my internet just wasn't strong enough in the basement.

Have people had success using screen mirror?

I was connecting to my laptop with usb.

I agree, I figured if connected wireless or usb, why have to connect directly to router? But I did and it worked. Bushnell said it could take up to 48 hours. Again, why 48 hours?
